Well, I've thought we'd be fortunate to avoid the drop for some time now. That is purely based upon our showing and as games come and go and the finish line gets nearer our chances come and go very quickly. It was never a case of having games in hand , but its always been about winning 3 pts.
Still a chance , but now we are playing catch up and the percentages have just swung a little against us.
Plenty of time for twists and turns. We are much better placed than Wycombe. We are much better placed than Wednesday, and Coventry and Birmingham are still very much within reach. We have three of the four still to play. It's still all to play for.
Everytime Birmingham win and we lose, it starts to feel like we’re down. The next game we win and they lose and it feels like it’s in our own hands again. So after Monday it might be all bright again (though i fear Monday as its a tough one as they’re battlers which kind of neutralises our usp).
One thing i have noticed is that in the last few weeks Brum (twice), Weds and Wycombe have all beaten teams in the top 6. We’ve taken 1 point from them all season and if we go down it might be our inability to ever get that surprise win that was the difference. Which will leave us thinking what might have been given how close many of the games have been.
Yep, I switched off iFollow when they scored, walked the dog to calm down, then came back to see Smudge had missed another penalty.
Firstly - If Warne has anything in him - he MUST stop Smudge taking pens, assuming we get another.
But sticking to the question, yes, I've got that all too familiar feeling... obviously I hope I'm wrong and we will celebrate like we've won the playoff final if we do survive...
UTM
p.s. for Wycombe - I'd go back to Crooks inbetween Smudge and midfield and bring Lindsey back - Freddie dropping to the bench.. I think we create more chances when we have that formation - and we need to hammer them from the start on Monday... This is one team we CAN out football (don't get me wrong - I admire them - and they might beat us.. we have to be at our best) - so keep it on the floor, play through them - attack attack attack...
Now that the two ronnies seem to have been removed I will resume posting.
Got to agree with Davids post about the Crooks and Smith partnership for our next game.
Also thought Sadlier should have come on yesterday not Hirst I have seen him play for Donny around 10 times in the previous 2 seasons, his best position is the "10" role and he is a natural finisher and also a very good penalty taker. As for Hirst, well lets not go there.
What I will comment on is the quality of the loan signings this year. Loan signings for us with our budget are the difference between staying up and going down. The loans are what will cost us this season by and large they have been awful. If by some miracle we stay up then this is an area we must improve on.
I agree about the loan signings. They are opportunities to improve your best eleven. Three of our five have been largely disappointing. Giles has been ok. Wing has been good, but overall It's been poor return on the investment.

Have the two (one) Ronnies been removed? I can't see it being a self imposed exile as their typing fingers would have been exploding around 5pm yesterday.
The much heralded recruitment team have been an unmitigated disaster as regards loanees, Blackman, Josefzoon & Hirst have been a disaster, Giles after a good start has been dissapointing of late & Wing although he's been OK, has he had a shot on target yet?
NO Journo has ever asked Warnie the question we all need answering namely;
A; What is the actual point of George Hirst
B; Why does the above named have to come on as sub in virtually EVERY game?
