Limited Punter's Guide to the Aintree Grand National 2021

Been studying the upcoming runners for this year's marathon event. Most of the entered horses  have a decent chance of lifting the winner's trophy according to some people.  But of course that's not quite true.

Minella Times has come in for significant recent ante post support and has been backed from as big as 50/1 into 14/1. Why so? Minella Times is Rachael Blackmore’s most likely mount but that horse’s connections have stated that a decision has yet to be made as to if he runs at Aintree or in the Irish National at Fairyhouse five days earlier. Trained by Henry De Bromhead and owned by Mr J P McManus.

Kimberlite Candy is also one to consider. This horse relishes longer trips in soft to heavy going. Trained by Tom Lacey and owned by Mr J P McManus.

Acapella Bourgeois trained by the in form Willie Mullins should go well if it runs. However, this horse was due to run in the Gold Cup race  at Sandown at the back end of April. Is the Grand National now its main target?

Will the in form Secret Reprieve at seven years of age be first past the post? Trained by Evan Williams this horse could be a great pretender. All the same it has more than an each way chance of striking gold for its owners, Mr and Mrs William Rucker.

Does pin sticking reap better dividends where the Grand National is concerned?

Thoughts anyone?

Minella Times
It has now been confirmed that Rachael Blackmore will be taking the ride. Rachael had a number of winners at the recent Cheltenham Festival in March.

Kimberlite Candy will be ridden by Richie McLernon

Acapella Bourgeois. Danny Mullins is the chosen jockey.

Secret Reprieve will take his place in the National line-up if a couple of horses are withdrawn. Obviously no named jockey as yet. It'll be interesting to see who jumps on board should this dark horse take his place in the big field.

And so history has now been made in the Aintree Grand National 2021. Rachael Blackmore has become the first woman jockey to win the big race on Minella Times. Well done, Rachael, trainer Henry De Bromhead and all the connections including Laura Hoy who looks after Minella Times. 😉

Well said Wotsisname. Irish trained horses first, second and third. So what does the resident expert put up. The short priced English trained favourite. Get Jethro Tull warmed up ready to play Living In The Past. Totally clueless about this game Gwru.

I left the tipping to you Gwru. I am saying you are clueless about the game. Anybody who is afraid to open betting accounts on the internet indicates to me they have no confidence in their own ability, and a lack of discipline.. I gave you a couple of horses i thought would go well at Cheltenham. I also told you your selections for the Gold Cup and Champion hurdle had very little chance. You chose to ignore my advice. That magic eye has turned into a glass eye, or in my opinion was never a magic eye in the first place.

It doesn't really matter how and where you place your bets as long as it's all legal. I had a bet on all of my three selections as per my second post on this topic. I came out with a clear profit. My fourth selection, Secret Reprieve did not make the cut and so did not run in the Grand National.
My bets were placed for me by a pal who has an online account. I've never had an online account. Hope this topic has proved educational, useful and especially successful for anyone who wanted to win a few ackers last Saturday.
