Millwall away on Good Friday

Let's hope it will be a good day for us. We lost to a solitary goal when we played them at home last September 2020. Jamal Blackman was stood well outside his 18 yard box when Wallace for Millwall latched on to a  through ball from an onside position to run and slot the ball into a wide open goal.

The morale inside our camp must have been boosted by recent improved performances.

A point or three will do nicely. No point in being negative at this crucial stage of the current Championship campaign.

UTM!

Yes, if we can make a good start to what is a crazy April, it will take some of the pressure off the fixture list..

Players don't complain about aches and pains when we are winning games...

Millwall are also very up for this game.

Been reading there media and listening to podcasts.

The club feels its on the up and going for a 4th top 10 finish. 2 of their longterm injuries back for selection.

Feels same for us.

Could be a good game for once Vs them.

However, I just want 3 points now

Just like you applauded Paul Warne for achieving promotion last season?

Having everyone fit for this upcoming run of games would be a massive boost. Ogbene might be a bit of a wild card. Lindsay is the one likely to have the biggest impact. Four points from the two games this weekend would be excellent with some of the teams around us having tough looking fixtures. Millwall do well and it wont be easy, but they look and feel like the kind of side we could match up well against.

Team new:

Johannson
Wood, Ihiekwe, MacDonald,
Wing, Harding, Giles, Barlaser, Crooks,
Smith, Lapado

Subs:
Blackman, Clarke, MacDonald, Wiles, Lindsay, Sadlier, Josefzoon, Hirst, Ogbene

Powerful IX and a quality bench with Lindsay and Ogbene returning! Olosunde missing - presume injured? Robertson and Mattock obviously still recovering.

C'mon Rotherham!!

Yes. Odd re Olusunde.

PW seemed to give a full clean health bill to the squad.

good solid first half, a great save by their keeper to stop it being 0-1 at half time, if we can keep playing like that for the remaining games we will at least be giving it a real go

I thought the penalty shout was a cert - otherwise Freddie would have had a clear shot at goal. Came into the game well and finished the better side. Millwall are excellent on the break.

Milllwall started brightly. The longer the first half went on the more we came into it. They still look dangerous on the break. It was a great save to keep Icky's header out. Biased though I am, I honestly didnt think it was a penalty. We are doing alright so far. Keep it going lads.

Really disappointing. No complaint about the sending off but Smudge has got to do better from the penalty spot. Virtually the same strike as against Wednesday. I thought the 10 men performed outstandingly well and looked the most likely to score. Hirst had a chance to make a name for himself in the last minute but put the cross over the goal - simply not good enough.

Still, not much damage done as long as Swansea do Brum tonight.

Onwards and upwards.

amazing how we lost that, they were awful everything they created cam from a punt and chase forward, the sending off turned the game. The players tried hard, Smith penalty was rubbish he showed the keeper with his look that way, he hit the same place as against Watford and cost us a valuable point. The keeper moved early he had time to stroke it the opposite direction, can't let him take anymore. I am annoyed at the substitutions, taking off both Ladapo and Crooks yet putting on Hirst who did nothing except give the ball away, and that cross in the last minute when he had all that time summed up his time at the millers. Sadlier should have been on instead of Hirst playing behind Smith also a natural penalty taker. To stay up we have to get the points when we play that well. We are moving into the must win games now, Monday is the first one, there can be no excuses in these key games. Let us home the Swans have a great game today

Ironic Glenn - our first foul in the match has changed the game. I thought we were good today. Obvious key moments - the red card (no real complaints as long as he was onside), the save from Icky, a wonderful strike for their goal and our missed penalty (which was never a penalty in a million years by the way. In general play, even with ten men, we were at least their equal. Overall, a decent performance but a disappointing result. Wednesday and Coventry lost and hopefully Swansea will beat Brum later and it won't hurt us too much. Need to win on Monday now.

Agree about the pen, Smith should never have taken it, what PW sees in Hirst is frankly beyond me, decent performance worth a point but let's pray for a Swansea win & go full throttle at the Chairboys on Monday

My first reaction was that the Millwall lad was offside. However, the replays weren't sufficient to prove it or not.

I think we didn't deserve too much from that game.

Similar sides, but millwall much better at possession.

It was a fairly even game all told.

Bottom 3 is where we still are and on reflection this game gives us a good clear look at what it takes to move to the mid level of this division.

You can see why Millwall do alright. They are very strong defensively, have players like Malone and Woods who are proven at this level and have some pace in attack.
