Brentford postponed

Due to a number of positive tests (Covid) in OUR first team squad.

is this a wind up? How?

bordering on the ridiculous now

clubs will start to question this quite rightly

yeah we're decimated with injuries & suspensions but surely we're not daft enough to .com this one something is badly wrong

Apparently only two full positive tests out of nearly 7,000 done across the league in the last full week. And again it is us calling games off.

My fear is that this won't play out well with the EFL, particularly if it means cancelling Tuesday at Luton as well.

On one hand I am sure the club will say that we take all the precautions we can. On the other hand, one outbreak might be considered bad luck but two starts to look a bit careless.

Wood was isolating during the Wednesday match which was no doubt an indication that we had a problem.

I can't believe that we would be so stupid as to attempt to pull the wool over the EFL's eyes by creating a Covid situation just to give us added time for our injured to return!

Anyway the EFL owe us one after that ridiculous sending off of Smith - it could have cost us 3 points! Or will they try and balance the books?!

NO-ONE can sanction us for falling victim of a GLOBAL PANDEMIC, however many times but it won't stop knuckledragging opposition fans calling for it, does look a little strange though.

Every time a club calls a fixture off there is a footnote that says that it will be subject to an EFL investigation. I am sure they will want to see evidence that we have followed all the right protocols. If we can show that we have and that it is just bad luck, I doubt they would or could punish us. I am equally sure that when a club is a serial offender, that scrutiny will get increasingly more thorough. It definitely isn't good news. We don't need the fixture pile up or any risk of sanction.

It doesn't seem at all strange to me .

The infection rate is slightly rising and, apparently unusual events happen all the time , which is why we have such a gambling problem in the world and, new infectious diseases mutate , and the unpredictability is why we love football and why life's a roller coaster.

Also, 2 days extra and a fixture pile up would not be my idea of a genius masterplan to gain an advantage. Quite the opposite with just a little thought.

Sure Roth U as a club will have done everything right. We don't know if it's someone at the club whose got the virus or someone they have come into contact with. Luton game also cancelled. Brentford game rearranged for April 27th. By then their season could be decided & we should have Robertson, Lindsay & perhaps Ogbene back. But I'm sure club would sooner have games on now.

I dont think anyone seriously believes we have made this up or manufactured it. The real issue might be whether we have followed all the protocols properly.

Not a bad afternoon considering we didn't play. Only Coventry made ground on us. I can't see Wycombe avoiding relegation and Wednesday are on a terminal slide. Birmingham have a horror run of fixtures coming up - Bristol City, Reading, Watford, Swansea and Brentford. If we can pick up the odd win and draw over this period, we will be looking pretty good!

If the teams lose around us then we have to make our games in hand count

If you are picking pts up & playing up to your best catching up on games two a week till end of the season won't be so physically demanding. It's in the mind if you are struggling you won't feel positive.

I’m not sure what’s strange about players contracting a contagious virus in the midst of a global pandemic, it’s also been proven you can catch the virus twice.

We forget players are human as well and are just as likely at catching the virus as the man on the street. I’d rather people not get dragged into insane conspiracy theories and rather support the one’s effected and wish them a speedy recovery as from first hand knowledge this virus is no joke and very serious.

With football coming to the business end of the season what effect will schools going back have. A top expert has worked out we need 80% herd immunity before we start to get this virus under control. We are still a long way off that figure.
