Following Freddie's fantastic finish last night, it got me thinking about the greatest moments whilst watching the Millers. If I was asked to name a top three I would go for;
a. Revell's Wembley goal
b. Fern's winning goal against Plymouth
c. Freddie's goal from last night.
Choosing a top one is difficult. However, based on the significance, the quality, the difficulty and the odds against scoring, I don't think Freddie's can be topped. That's not a bad compliment after over 50 years of watching the mighty Millers.
Towners goal against Sheff U at Millmoor kicking towards the top end. Alan Lee against Brentford that took us up at Millmoor. At NYS Frecks goal that confirmed promotion from league 2
Hughes' shot from beyond the penalty area at the Railway End against Shrewsbury I think it was, quite a screamer.
Ferns goal at the same end against Plymouth never to be forgotten.'..firing home past the advancing Crudgington.'
Jemson's goal at Wembley, composure after being tripped by the defender to slot it past the goalie.
Happy days
Revell's 'ambitious but brilliant' goal is my number one. Others I find difficult to rank but the ones mentioned already are all memorable. Goals in derbies always mean a lot. The McBride, Garner and Barker goals at Hillsborough are all legendary. The Towner goal at Millmoor and in the same game against the Blades Ronnie's goal when Conroy punched the ball into his head and it rebounded in stick in my mind. I also vividly remember a late-ish winner scored by Richard Finney in a 2-1 win at Bramall Lane in about 1980. Great memories. I'm sure and I certainly hope people will be talking about Freddie's lockdown goal at Hillsborough in forty years time. Top three - Revell, Finney, Ladapo.
One of my favourite goals was when frecks scored against Middlesbrough in the last few minutes. Just because their manager went walkabout for 48 hours after it.

Goals that I enjoyed most. Alan Crawford away at Barnsley in the fa cup, our fans filled part of the stand for us. 2nd H it was all us, he scored with about 10 mins to go it was electric tinged with relief in there. Towners goal against Sheff U at Millmoor, Ronnie a great long ball to give Towner the run on Houston for them then he clipped ball home, joyous scenes. Going to go with TH Frecks goal against Middlesbrough when Warnock was manager. Bora then were always hard to beat, Frecks ghosted in to slot the ball home at the NYS, great feeling.
Alex's Wembley Goal for me - like others, I find it hard to pick a 2nd, 3rd etc
Although not great goals, Woody's two Wembley goals, us all singing his song ( I was holding back the tears of joy there. hairs on back of neck moments), and a great weekend in London are near the top, so those goals are up there for me.
I do keeping watching Freddie's goal, it's as good feeling...
Some great memories in this thread..

Can't forget Richard Finney's goal against Brentford back in the McGuigan's days, where he was 1 to 1 with a defender, the goalie was coming out.Finney chipped the ball in the air, rounded the keeper and headed it home in the Tivoli end. If someone like Gascoigne had done that it would still be replayed over today. Great unforgettable goal.

I remember it well Calypso. Richard Finney is probably my favourite Miller of all time. He was a Rotherham lad and a Miller through and through, and had he not been forced to retire at the age of 24 or 25 he would have gone on to have a great career. I know there were bigger clubs regularly interested in him. As it was, he still managed about 250 games for us in all divisions except the very top one, and to score a goal every three or four games whilst usually playing as a winger.
Another goal of his I remember fondly is when even with his small stature he rose above the twin giants Evans and McCarthy of Barnsley to head home the only goal of the game at the Railway End, also around the 1980 period.
Yes, I was standing right in front of Don - and although I was as ecstatic as anyone when the more recent stunning goals went in, doing it to Liverpool has to trump doing it to Plymouth, Orient and the unmentionables.
I was there trev but don't remember it. I was only a young un must have been 8 and with my dad and grandad in the stand. Accompanied them to all the games from 59/60 season but don't remember specific events. What did captivate me was seeing the constant flickering of small lights all around the ground as people lit up their fags and pipes, not a phenomenon you see these days.
Revs goal v Orient simply HAS to be number 1.
Freddie's goal v Wednesday is right up there but for sheer euphoria Darren Garner's screamer in the last minute & the scenes in the leppings lane end is a feeling I'll take to my grave.
I was at QPR when Ajayi scored in added time to get us our only away win last time we were in The Championship. It was towards the end of the season and we were fighting to stay up. They were crazy scenes.
