I suspect that despite you-know-who blaming Warne and only Warne for the fact that Lamy isn't yet a Premier League player, Warne may have recommended Lamy to his mate Hirsty. His loan spell at Wimbledon was with another of Warne's old colleagues Nicky Daws as manager. So apart from giving Lamy his first professional contract and professional debut, Warne seems to be doing what he can to get Lamy a chance at a level where he might make an impression.
I have to say that I got to meet Julien Lamy and spend five or ten minutes talking with him not long after he joined us, and he came across really well. I genuinely hope he gets offered a deal at Grimsby and makes something of it.
