Vassell joins Fleetwood

On loan for the rest of the season.

But Vassell is a Warney boy who only gets in the team because Warne picks his mates, yet he's loaned him out? How does that work?

Personally I don't think he's quite as bad as some people make out but I would agree that overall his move here just hasn't worked out, a sensible decision if we've got a replacement lined up.

As any sensible person can see. the happy family thing is a total myth.  I don't think there is a player in the squad who hasn't been dropped from time to time.  Vassell has been visibly upset at times with not playing or being substituted.  'Warney picks his mates and keeps people happy' is thinly veiled code for 'Warne doesn't pick the team I think he should pick'.

Vass might do alright at Fleetwood.  I hope he does.  They are now officially my eldest's second favourite side.  She loved him.  Sometimes we see players go out on loan and come back.  On this occasion I don't think so.  I suspect that is the last we will see of him.  He has been a scorer of occasional great goals, but not a good goalscorer.

In fairness he has always put a fair shift in, and often when asked to play in positions that he probably isn't a natural at.  I will remember him for scoring twice at Oxford in what was a massive game at the time when we were 3-0 up at half time and he got two of them - probably the best 45 minute team performance in the last two or three seasons.

Good luck to him.

He's not coming back, quote from Paul Warne: "He's out of contract in the summer and I don't think that would have been one that we'd have renewed,”

Vass his Warney boys name failed to deliver. It's been on the cards since start of last season when only the player himself turned down a move to Salford. Tilt next to be loaned out. I'm hoping Blackman goes. Not heard Cooper being mentioned is he showing enough to stay? Somebody tell me if I'm right again 21 years of age & under you don't need to be in the 25 man squad to be able to play for the 1st team. I know that's it's under 21. Kayode back for tomorrow?

Twitter got that one right as I reported last night no surprise from me warney showing a bit of backbone saying he won't be coming back. Get Kayode back instead of faffing about looking for a new striker should be on the bench for tomorrow in my opinion. Hopefully Tilt is next rumoured to be a few clubs in div one interested. Get a left back in another holding midfielder and a goalkeeper send Blackman back.

The fact that due to an outbreak of Covid, the majority of the Carlisle squad are self isolating (next three games postponed), coupled with the fact that Warne has said he intends to leave him out on loan for the foreseeable future suggests that Kayode ain't coming back this season, and certainly not by tomorrow anyway. So we don't need to mention it again.

Now back to the original topic...
