Bournemouth sit second in our division. They have won their last three games after losing for the first time this season at Hillsborough. Only Blackburn have scored more goals than them and have a goal difference of plus ten. In David Brooks they possibly have the best playmaker in the division. I would be here all day mentioning other good players they have. In a recent article i read about the value of each teams players in our league, Bournemouth were ranked highest with their squad estimated at £120million.We were 23rd with an estimated value of £10 million. I think that gives some idea of the task we have tomorrow. Bournemouth's main strength is the speed they move the ball about and the way their players find space. I expect a very tough day for us .
So you would pick Vickers purely so that you can have a look at him and in the hope that he might be better? I would agree with Whistons suggested lineup with one change, namely Crooks instead of Miller behind Smith.

I think we would be run ragged with both Wood and Mattock in the back line. I would drop Mattock and put Wiles at left back and put Crooks in behind Smith. We will need Wood's old head to keep us organised at the back. I can't go through another 90 minutes waiting for Blackman to drop the ball again so time to give Jo a Go!
Johansson Harding Ihiekwe Wood Wiles Olosunde Barlaser Lindsey Miller Crooks Smith
Brooks is a fabulous player and he'll be conducting their midfield. Up front, Stanislas will probably be their main threat.
It's going to take a massive performance for us to get something from this but we are capable of springing a surprise!
Had a think. Not a game for giving players their 1st game of the season such as Thompson. I'm not Vassell's biggest fan but he's strong enough & can play on the left. So going 4-4-1-1 Vickers; Harding Ihiekwe A McDonald Wiles; Olosunde Lindsay Barlaser Vassell; Crooks; Smith
I'm not going to attempt to guess the team as there always seems to be a couple of surprises in every line up. I would like to see Wood start if he's fully fit. Apparently there are doubts about the fitness of Mattock, so I wouldn't be massively shocked if Jones played at left back, he had a couple of decent away games there earlier in the season, not much of an attacking threat from him (although he won the penalty at Forest) but a relatively safe pair of hands in that position.
I'll be fearful whatever team turns out. We are proving every game that we don't have the quality for this league though i'm less scared of Brentford than Bournemouth. I fear our only salvation (unless the chairman goes on an uncharacteristic spending spree i n January) is to play our toughest roughest grafters to upset the opposition and grind out results. I've seen enough of Vassell and Clarke looks very ordinary. Lindsay has to play,if only to do the"ratting".
Today I am hoping for a result stuff the opposition let them worry about you this league is not as good as it thinks it is. Rotherham earn your right to be here.
Think of your own jokes THMiller! How tall are you and your 'other sibling'? Tall enough to cover much of the goal? Or are you two short, thick planks?
Just a little joke.

I will make a vain attempt to get this post back on track at least my old as the hills joke was football related. I will pick a team using Warneys 4411. Goalkeeper Vickers seen him play against us and live on tv we are in desperate need of a competent one. Then Harding Icky A McDonald just give him a nod over woody that's if he stays on the pitch. Mattock only left back we have that situation should have been sorted in the summer. Midfield Olosunde Lindsey Barlaser Wiles. Then Lapado and Smith no wingers none fit at the moment.
Interesting idea to use Ihiekwe like that, VillaPark. It worked with Ajayi there. I am not sure that Ihiekwe is as good a footballer as Ajayi or big enough to break play up like Ajayi was, and I would worry about a lack of pace with Wood and MacDonald together, but it's certainly an idea worth considering.
It's a decent idea, VillaPark. Wood and MacDonald should be able to deal with crosses.
I'm coming round to the idea of 352, because we have the personnel to fit it. Something like GK (take your pick), Harding, Ihiekwe, Wood ; Olosunde, Lindsay, Barlaser, Crooks, Wiles; Smith, Ladapo.
It gets us the two up front, gets us bodies in midfield, and feels like we have some defensive cover. The danger would be the wing backs getting pushed back and it becoming a back five. They would have to work ever so hard.
