Great forward and one of my favourite strikers. Only 5'6" but scored 80 in over 300 league appearances - could do with his kind today! My favourite memory was a long lob from Dick Habbin which rebounded off the crossbar and Phillips vollied it into the bottom left corner from the edge of the area. Can't remember the game, think it was Habbin but I'm sure it was TP that finished it in typical poacher fashion. Perhaps some of the more senior members on this board can confirm or correct my memory? (That rules out Smiler who's far too young!).
RIP Trev and thanks for making a young fella very happy!

Terrible shame. My memory of Trevor Phillip's is that he was one of those forwards who would never give the opposition's defenders a moment's peace. I get the impression he was someone you would want on your side rather than be playing against him. RIP.
What a shock, another sad day for RUFC. Lost count of the times he went down in the opposition box, up pops Crawford to slam in the resulting penalty. Many of Crawford's goals came as a result of Philips guile.
Heartbroken. Part of my youth died with Trev. Players like Trev Phillips, Gwyther, Finney, Crawford, Stancliffe, Green etc ARE the reason I'm a lifelong Miller & not a Rotherham Owl/Blade/Leeds etc etc
