Hillsborough correct. Lindsay & S Mac in the engine room. My thinking Crooks did nothing last week, same as Ladapo. Hirst I'd have him straight in, Smith would be best as target man.

The millers face a Millwall side who had a superb 2019/20 season finishing 8th and only missing out on the play offs by 2 points. That was 24 points more than they achieved in the previous campaign.

They have signed Troy parrot a young Irish lad on a season long loan from Tottenham. He has a quad injury and missed the tough opener with Stoke and could only play a bit part against us. Last season they had an energetic midfielder on loan from Brighton called Jayson Molumby, he is not here this season and will be missed. They have signed Mason Bennett from Derby who plays on the left of a front three. Wallace plays on the other flank up front and had a good season last term scoring ten times. Millwall will be a tough task for us, a physical side with a bit of pace on the break. They play a 3:4:3; formation and like to control the middle of the park. I think a point for us would be a great result. The subs could play a big part .Ladapo,Miler, Vassell, Wiles, Hirst and if Harding is struggling Jones to steady the back four.

My side would be in a 4:2:3:1 formation.

Blackman

Harding Ihiekwe Wood Mattock

McDonald Lindsay

Ogbene Croks Sadlier

Smith

So 442 then? Not 4411.

ditto... although happy if sadlier in place of miller, but not seen miller yet so maybe as you say hillsborough..

I think 4 4 2 could work ok with squad we have now, definitely not just one up front at home.

Millwall are a strong side. It will be a real test. Looking forward to it. If I had to predict a result I'd say 1-1 which wouldn't be a bad result. I have a feeling Smith and Vassell might start as a front two. They linked up well when they both came on last week.

smiler glad I'm not there if Vassell starts! Crooks & Ladapo never in the game last Saturday. Hirst he's come here to play. With our forwards he should! Let's see. Warney has different ideas!

No surprises from you gwru. For the record I thought Ladapo worked hard last week as a lone striker without much joy. Smith and Vassell did well when they came on but we had got ourselves on top by then and actually Ladapo had his best spell of the game just before he came off. Hirst wont have come here as an automatic choice. Part of the impact we want is that his arrival might spur on the other strikers to perform at their best, as well as giving us impact off the bench whoever starts. Warne said as much in an interview, but then you probably didnt watch it as there is nothing anybody can say that will in any way influence your thinking.

Watched all that game last week at Wycombe. We had nothing up front. Smith he's the only one at least who makes himself a nuisance there. Crooks & Ladapo didn't see nothing from them. Hirst straight in playing in Crooks no. 10 role behind Smith. Side you start with wins or loses games especially in the championship. Game can be out of reach by time you change it.

Firstly the only target strikers we have are smith and proctor ladapo and vassell are box strikers Hirst is a box striker as well So with our mix of strikers and the general quality of defenders means that we have to play a formation at least in home games with two up front playing the lone striker formation has never i repeat never worked for us in the championship. So the formation for us imo always have tp play two up front i like 4 4 2 Now some fellow fans believe in a 5 midfield So maybe to settle this 3 5 2 or 3 1 4 2 If we get barlaser back he fould be the holding midfielder or macdonald

If you watched the Wycombe game playing Lindsay & McDonald in the engine room in midfield worked. So stay with that not saying same players all the time. Up front did not work with Ladapo lone striker. Got to be seen if Hirst can play lone striker. Whose seen him play for any length of time? I haven't. Sadlier could be better in attacking midfield role with Miller on the left.

'Who's seen him for any length of time?'. Answer: Paul Warne and Rob Scott.

2 up front. Strange bench? No full back cover. Wiles would have to be that.

If you'd have listened to Paul Warnes podcast about his approach to management it may have dawned on you that there is more to it at a professional level than jotting eleven names down on the back of a fag packet in true Mike Bassett style. But then, of course you refused because no one can possibly know as much about the game as you, a retired steelworker, does. I have been playing guitar for many years and I am not bad. Does this mean that I close my mind to anything new that I listen to? No. Quite the opposite. It's how you learn and improve.

Promising performance but dissapointing result. A catastrophic Ihiekwe mistake cost us in a game of fine margins .
I was happy with the performance of both McDonalds & Chieo was excellent but surprisingly Smudge was the one that got bullied, Freddie looked disinterested & we consequently looked toothless up top but one thing this game has taught me is that we can compete & don't look out of place in the Championship. #utm
