Michael Ihiekwe and Matt Crooks both voted into the League One Team of the Year by their fellow professionals. Ihiekwe was Mr Consistent. Crooks' goals from midfield were vital, and the bigger the game the better he played. Congratulations to them both.
Crooks played his best football last season away from home. I didnt go to Ipswich but he scored both goals there. His headed goal in front of the packed away end at Lincoln was a highlight and secured a vital three points. He scored two fantastic goals at Gillingham to shove it up you know who. The biggest performance though was at Oxford where he ripped them apart in what might have been the best individual performance I've seen from a Miller in the last ten years. That all bodes well, because this season we wont encounter the problems we had trying to break down teams happy to just come and sit behind the ball (as Salford did in fact) which probably isnt his or our strong suit.
Already knew about these awards anyway congratulations to the both of them. Not interested in theses awards especially prem players like rubbing grease on a fat pigs arse as far as I am concerned. I reckon Ben Wiles is the best footballer at the club by miles and where the hell would we have been without woody again.
Thinking back to last season watching home games Ihiekwe was far away our best player. League 1 last season was poor, you only had look at the play-offs when it restarted. Players mentioned Crooks can't remember nothing out of the ordinary from him. Wiles not much end product from him. Wood did his job but I didn't see him up against many to test him. Out of our own players Olosunde, Ogbene & Lindsay worth a mention.

No surprises there gwru. You wrote Crooks off half way through his debut. His goals to game ratio throughout his career is about one in four which is extremely good for a midfielder. More to the point his fellow professionals thought he was one of the best midfielders in the league last season. I know you will arrogantly say that you arent bothered what they think but if its all the same with you I will put more faith in a poll of about 400 professional footballers who played against him than I will in you, particularly given your abysmal track record as a talent scout. Also no surprise to see you play down our promotion achievement by describing league one as poor. That gets trotted out every season. The truth is though that competing with and finishing above clubs like Oxford, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Ipswich is no mean feat. Would it kill you to give the club you supposedly support just a little bit of fair credit?
Congratulations to both Michael & Matt for their well deserved awards. Fully deserved in my & all other right thinking Millers fans view but ...........
Smiler off you go again my amigo is entitled to his opinion I disagree with some of the things he says but that is all it is Then we get the other Bamber's piling in on some pointless holy grail about nothing it would be very boring if we all thought the same

By 'we Bambers' you mean those of us who have a basic command of the English language? I keep trying to improve your 'amigo' but he seems incapable of understanding or caring why not got nothing is so incorrect. His every post contains a double negative. And his recent waist of money posts were classics. Anyway, back to football. He has summarily dismissed the Millers promotion since we shouldn't have been promoted because he couldn't hack the fact that Paul Warne is a successful Millers manager. He pretended that he didn't care about Crooks being in the PFA team of the season. Imagine if that was his boy Vaulks. He'd have been dining on it for years.
I had no problem understand gwru post I happen to think on this occasion he is talking rubbish so what. All I have done is agree to disagree this time we are not always right all of the time.
Crooks or Vaulks if you could just have one playing for us, which one? Vaulks everytime. Apart from goalscoring everything else Vaulks comes out on top. If we could get someone to shell out £1 million for Crooks I'd snap their hands off.
You are confusing your opinion with facts again. That is your opinion. It's not a fact. As Smiler said earlier, Crooks was immense at Oxford. I was there, he was there. But the opinions of the two of us agree. I'll await someone agreeing with you that Crooks is a 'waist' of space.

I didnt mind Vaulks. They are different types of player so it's a false comparison. Vaulks has drive and determination and gets a foot in. Crooks is the more creative, bigger and quicker. They would probably make a good midfield two. TC is right though. Opinions are fine but every single opinion gwru has comes from his anti-Warne starting point. Whenever we won last season it was because the league was crap or the other team didnt turn up, or we got lucky. He says we only got promoted by default through points per game but hailed Barnsley staying up even though they only did because Wigan were docked points. Its baffling that someone can support a team but go out of their way to find a negative in everything and be so critical seemingly just for the fun of it. Be proud that two current players were recognised by their peers. What is wrong with you, man?
