I guess everyone is being kidded on by the pointless chases into the channels. If Ladapo has turned in the recent performances of Smith he’d have been hammered.

He shouldn’t be anywhere the side next week.

So in PW interview he says Smith doesn't know the rules so cost us a goal by touching the already goal bound Wiles effort in the net, how ******* stutpid do you have to be?? He also says that the forwards don't get on the crosses I have said it for months Smith never anticipates a cross he is always behind the ball, all the times he heads the ball is when the ball comes to him.

Ladapo can't lead the line. Vassell he can't neither is he a goalscorer. Morris was brought in as cover for Smith. Should have kept Kayode if we weren't going to replace Morris.

Our strikersare not great individually, they neither compliment each other. My lad said his mates were laughing their asses off down in Plymouth when they'd heard what we paid for Ladapo and they / he were right. If teenagers can see it why the heck can our scouts not?

Smith and Vassels time is running out. They've shown what they can do and like all those we released in the summer they've had a fair crack. I'd give Ladapo another season purely for cost reasons

Freddie has 15 goals if he gets to 20 he has done his job he hasn't played every game. Smith is a league 2 striker and vassell the same. Morris should have stayed and played in a pair with Freddie, but warne likes players that run a lot athletes not footballers

There's a saying in horseracing you can only go to the well so many times. Smith & Mattock look spent. They played above themselves in the championship now they are running on empty. Manager should have acted on that. Thing is though we've got nobody else to play the Smith role. I do agree our current manager goes on workrate opposed to ability in some cases. I realise you've got to be match fit but if you haven't got the ability to start with it won't work. I still can't understand why Warney brought Adelakun & Koroma in. It might be all we can afford but it's not right on the players. It's not good for anyone seeing players not up to the standard required.

It was a pleasure yesterday to watch Ian Henderson's movement off the ball for Rochdale. He was caught offside three or four times and isnt particularly quick, but was a constant threat playing off the shoulder of the last man. He got in three times and scored twice. Admittedly our back four looked like what it was - a unit that had not played together before - but still in an understated way it was a bit of a masterclass. Smith is a different type of striker so I am not making a straight comparison. Yesterday was not his best day. He won his share of headed flick ons but otherwise had a poor afternoon. He wasnt the only one mind you. I would say that Ogbene played well and that Crooks and Thompson did ok (Thompson I am guessing played at right back because they played the very tall and physical Wilbrahim on the left) but the rest had days to forget. Curtis Tilt had a difficult debut. It must be difficult to come into a back four as a new player but based on that one performance he is big and powerful and quick enough but certainly not a ball playing centre back. As the saying goes, his second touch was usually a tackle. I'm not judging him yet though. It was a difficult day to make a debut and even good and established players have off days.

In regards smith yes he is the only target man we have got. If we go up then we need another one in the summer. To me sometimes Smith and Ladapo are on different wave lengths. Smith is often battered by defenders with little help from the ref who more often than not blow for a foul the other way. He works tirelessly for the team but a stikers job is score goals. it up to warne to get the players supporting the front. two to let smith and ladapo to be in the box for the crosses not providing them.
] Don't get me started on Vassell, Warne setup himself up with a fall with his comments about Vassell he always a has a surprise in him. I'm still surprised he scored those goals not surprised he hasn't replicated the form.

In regards Warne and his loyalty to players. loyalty works with humans its human nature to want loyalty but its also human nature to take the **** ( Blackstock)

It is too late now but for me the two upfront we should have had at the start was Morris and Freddie both had pace and were brought in to play. When Smith plays we lump the ball forward and chase it he gives away too many fouls, doesn't score and yes he is our only target man, why do we need a target man ? That mean**** long hit high

I was never certain about Vassell but never-the-less please when he hit a good vain of form during the January window. Funny how he seems to have reverted to type since then.

Morris was a pretender no good in a battle. This league apart from Coventry it looks like the rest lump the ball up for a big striker up front. We are no different. Smith he's battle weary but he's all we've got. Vassell no simple as that. We've got to find a way of playing Smith & Lapado up front but keeping it solid in midfield. Wiles at left back, Mattock he's had his chance. Lindsay Barlaser Crooks Ogbene across the middle. Yes Ogbene on the left he can play there, who else we got. Olosunde at Right back will get forward. Lindsay can put a good cross in from the right. Sorted.

Gwru I do not agree Smith is a lump, what is the point of playing a striker that cannot score goals.

Now Mr Clough always said football was easy, all Smith needs to do when we have the ball wide is attack the 6sqm between the six yard box and pen spot and anticipate a cross. The instructions to the wingers are hit that zone two out of every three crosses. Not rocket science is it surely they can coach that

Derby never said Smith is a lump. Said like most sides in this league we lump the ball up. Smith will keep batting, been a good signing.
