New contract for Woody taking him through to Summer 2021. He's been immense this season and his return to the side saw a shoring up of the back four and a change in our fortunes. I reckon this is a sound move; solidifies his commitment to the team for the promotion run in and gives Warney some security at the back next season either as a starter in League One or as back up in the Championship. I reckon, and hope, that he'll end up as a defensive coach in the longer term.
If we go up will be bout £250,000 for him. We've chucked more away on McDonald his 2 yr contract. At least Wood he's played well this season surprised me. Can't see how we can increase the no. of coaching staff if as Warney says we aren't running a charity.
That man would run through a wall for this football club. Yes he has his limitations but what he does do he does it supremely well, a fantastic captain & organiser, there's always a goal in him & IMO Woody's well on his way to becoming a club legend. I'm delighted he's got another year.

He might already be there Brad. Good to hear from you.
TC I googled Sunderland FC thought they will have more coaches than most in league 1. Selected playing staff showed me 3 1st team coaches incl' GK coach + assistant manager.
You are showing yourself up again. Stop while you are behind. You don't have a clue about football finances, you just announce that the Millers can't afford any more coaching staff. You don't have a clue. It's all part of your puerile tantrum because Richard Wood had got another year on his contract. Grow up.
TC I said that to start with Roth U aren't a big enough club to have anymore coaching staff it's you that wanted to justify we did. Can't make jobs up. Wood he's got another year a nice amount of money in the real world you wouldn't get.
