It’s a tough one regarding left back. Mattock is struggling with his back again despite his suspension being over so wouldn’t surprise me to see Wiles/Olosunde there again.
If Mattock's out home game against not a form side ideal game to give Hinds his league debut. Sooner have a natural left back. How are we ever going to know if Hinds is good enough without playing him?
It matters not one iota that "we know" if Hinds is good enough. All that matters is that the professionals, the management team, know if he is good enough, and they will. They work with him on a daily basis.
Blooding a young un before he's ready is no good for anyone, not least the matchday team and in particular the result considering the position we are in. And it certainly will not do the lad himself any good if he's given the runaround by seasoned pros, could shatter his confidence. Warne will know when the time is right.
TopCat and Calypso are of course spot on. We don't need to play Hinds just so that gwru can decide inside 5 minutes whether he is good enough or not. The professionals who we pay to make these decisions will do just that. We can conclude from the fact that Robertson, Jones, Olosunde, Clarke and Wiles have all played at left back ahead of Hinds in the absence of Mattock that they don't think Hinds is good enough/ready just yet. As Calypso says, to put him in too soon might do more harm than good. It is pretty simple really. I appreciate that this won't stop the endless post posts from gwru on the subject, but there isn't really any more to be said about it.
He turned 20 in November. I remember seeing Beckham twice at Millmoor when he was 19/20, once when he was on loan at Preston and once playing for Merchandise United reserves. Should they have got shut if he couldn't get into the first team at that point in his career?
Both arguments are valid, but the same criteria applies hinds as it did to wiles, both Hamshaw and Warne have to be convinced that hinds is ready for the step up and the only person who can do that is Hinds himself.
Although we are fans and have our clubs interest at heart, we are and will always be on the periphery of squad decisions.
I agree that come promotion decisions are going to have to be made, wouldn't it be better to try Hinds in a league 1 team on a roll as opposed to a team struggling in the championship.
There might be three out that team missing I don't know what is happening behind the scenes. One of those players it is out of our hands the other 2 money talks. With a transfer window coming into full flow wait until 2pm on Saturday. The Vultures are circling remember we are a selling then buying club.
I would like to point out the other team does turn up never been mentioned. Clarke Harris will be itching for a bit more revenge. See how this new player does waiting to hear an in depth analysis from gwru someone on this site who knows his stuff. I think it will be a draw tomorrow or the old Rotherham curse we always end up losing to a team that hasn't won for a bit.
I hope Bristol Rovers give us a game. All this playing players out of position we can't do it when it matters or if we get in the championship. Be running rule over Adelakun, open mind on him.
I don't do detailed evaluations on players. Despite my background, I leave player assessment to the professionals. I don't pretend to be any kind of expert, unlike some
For the record, I will be completely ignoring gwru's assessment. Apart from the fact that scouts who actually know their stuff look at players half a dozen times or more before forming an opinion, why would anybody give any credence to somebody who has been so totally wrong so often?
