Full credit to players and management that was a great performance. We have changed the tactics to this swapping back four system and it worked well, lots of positives in Thompson, crooks and ogdene being very impressive. The front two worked very hard and set pieces are a lot better. Negatives I do not get Vassell at all, yes great goal but otherwise not good enough for me, mattock is a disgrace for that he is one of the senior pros and saw red absolutely disgrace left us with no left back at a critical time

It weren't pretty but effective against a limited side. Richard Wood got stuck in when he came on, praise from me. I don't like Olosunde on the left but didn't matter today. Ihiewke cleared everything up. Don't know about Thompson at right back but we are down to the bones in defence. Hinds might get a game. Got Lindsay to come back that's something to look forward to.

Best performance at home by a country mile message for gwru where would we be without Richard Wood. Good news I got my ticket for the Hull game I reckon when the news filtered through to the players I bet they thought we have to do something for a genuine fan like me. That's what I want to see and you will get less belly aching from me. Thomson had a good game a player playing out of position not knocking anybody not even the sending. Vassell scoring a goal at last unbelievable UTM.

Agree with Mattock comment, but other than that you can't really complain about anything else, best performance at home in my opinion... Moved ball forward much quicker, we were first to tackles, pressed and closed them down - dominated the whole game.

If we can repeat that performance most games we'll be well set for top 6 finish...

Finally, any criticism of the King that is Richard Wood surely deserves a lifetime ban after that game... !! biggrinbiggrin

Bring on Blackpool...

gwru - you'll be delighted to know that you're famous. Talking with a few people after the game; we were predicting what you would post after such a great performance. I have to say - everyone was spot on - negative.

By far the best home performance of the season. Difficult to single out anyone who didn't make a telling contribution - I suppose you could say Iversen did nothing! Icky is immense and in my opinion is a better defender than Ajayi. Barlaser had the best game I've seen him play and because he and the other midfielders pressured and harried, we won almost every second ball. Crooks is fabulous as a midfield general and if he can maintain this form, he will push us towards automatic promotion. Ogbene was simply unplayable - particularly if you were the Boro left back, to whom he gave a torrid time. Class all over the pitch for us apart from Mattock yet again losing his cool and getting a deserved Red. Unforgivable, particularly when we had already lost Robertson, our other key left footer. Olosunde did well filling in at left back. And what hyperbole is sufficient to describe the contribution of Richard Wood - a simply outstanding effort.

Most other results went for us. Keep this up and we could be vying with Oxford for the Champions spot!!

Well done Warney - onwards and upwards.

GlenMiller I praised Richard Wood. It's just Peterborough were that bad you couldn't read too much into that. Manager he's got to work now on the assumption Blackpool will be a tougher game. Know he scored but to me Vassell isn't the answer. I want to beat a side who turn up, a good side with football played the right way with players in their correct positions. But I came out of the ground feeling better than I have since I saw Lamy against Donny in the EFL cup. That's not negative cause Lamy he's got it.

Theres an old saying gwru that you play as well as the other team allow you to. We never let Peterborough settle and bossed them all over the field. They hardly ever got near our penalty area. We were running riot towards the end.

Its unbelievable that you can be negative after that. Truly unbelievable. In fact you are making yourself look very foolish.

Mattock should be hanging his head in shame for allowing himself to be sucked into retaliating by Toney, who should also be ashamed of himself for his antics for the entire 90 minutes chirping at the ref and moaning at his teammates quite apart from his role in the Mattock red card.

The rest of our players deserve great credit for a tremendous performance.  Perm any one from half a dozen for motm.  I thought Thompson and Crooks were both tremendous, and Ihiekwe was flawless (I doubt there is a better defender in this division) but for giving their left back an afternoon from Hell I would have nominated Ogbene.  The smile on his face as he left the field at full time was worth the ticket money on it's own.

gwru - Richard Wood will be delighted you singled him out for praise! Peterborough were as bad as Rotherham made them. Go on - say well done to the boys and the Manager - go on - you know you really want to!

I'm not going nowhere. My work is far from done on here. I won't rest till Lamy starts on the right. Today Ogbene though got by his opposition full back more in the 2nd H but how many crosses that went were they should did he get in? Also I want Hinds given the chance now Mattock is out. I don't rate Clarke & don't like right sided players playing left back when we have a natural left back here.

Football is a fairly simple game and when Richard Wood plays for us in this division we win and keep clean sheets.

Keep him fit we have a great chance of automatic promotion.

The leading goalscorers in the league come to NYS and have only one or two efforts on target. That should tell anybody that the Millers had a real stranglehold on the game. In the first half we bossed it but didn't get enough balls into their box. We high pressed and they had very little to offer.

I thought the second half was our best 45 minutes home or away this season. Thomson got the ball early to Ogbene and he had the posh defence on the back foot. Crooks was winning everything in midfield and driving us forward. I have been critical of Barlaser but yesterday he won the ball and made some telling passes. He is a player imo, who , if you give him space has the ability to punish sides. Ihiekwe appears to be getting better and better and i fear somebody might make an offer we cannot refuse in January. Wood leads by example and the way he went into that tackle, won the ball and drove us forward exemplifies all about him. Vassell is not everybody's favourite but how can you knock that finish yesterday. A spectacular strike and only him in our squad could have scored it. Would i keep him if an offer came in? Probably not, but i will long remember that finish yesterday and hope he doesn't find a home where his undoubted talents will flourish. Perhaps it's still not too late for us. That goal might kick start his season

Mattock was the down side of yesterday. 2-0 up against a demoralised ten men and he sees the red mist. It's not the first time he has done this either. I rate him highly as a third tier left back but he has now left us with a problem at left back. Robertson and Jones who have filled in before are likely to be out. Is it time for Hinds to go in on Wednesday? For me no, he should be given a start against Hull. I think i would resist putting Clarke in as well. That leaves Olosunde or Thomson at left back. Blackpool have a couple of good wide men so playing those two is not ideal. i think i would but Thomson at left back and put Olosunde on the right. I know he played left sided on Sunday but he had an experienced full back behind him. Another tough looking game but one i feel we can win.

Come on Warney make gwru new years day and put Hinds in our manger seems to be very reluctant to trust the young players. The kids are alright what is the point with the new training ground if we are not going to use it. Look at Barnsley they play them how are they going to progress it must be a bit of a downer if you know you have no chance of first team football. What about sneaking Lamy on in the 2nd half now that is the way to start the new year.

Next to no chance of Hinds or Lamy even being on the bench new years day. I don't rate Clarke but he'll be considered before Hinds. How are Hinds or Lamy going to get 1st team match fit/sharp not playing on a training pitch for the reserves. Yesterday Ogbene I know he ran at their full back but I didn't see him put a telling cross in. Lamy he can. I'd have Lamy on the right, Ogbene on the left Lindsay with a signing in January holding midfielder. Our opposition wouldn't know what'**** them!
