Can we keep on topic or can mods step in please....

I was upset when the site went down a few weeks back. I left MM some years back, partly because the ads made it difficult to use, and partly because it got a bit incestuous and you felt it wasn't a proper forum anymore.

Here was great, and had a good number of posters, focused on reality and with RUFC at their heart and discussion was on topic and balanced (overall)

Whilst I'm all for opinions and fair play - this site is being hijacked by 1 or 2 (well 2) posters and I feel many people no longer comment or bother because many posts are simply mad wind-up rants based on someone's odd self interests (I assume they have no other life.)

Shame for them, but more a shame that this site can't be just about sensible discussion about the team based on facts and optimism, with the OCASSIONAL rant...

It's just my opinion, but either we need bans, or we might as well let the site go...

Personally, I’m giving it until this season end or I’m off.

I love RUFC and I like this site, but like voting for labour, it’s getting to the point where I feel the better option is to opt out as I simply can’t stand it much more unless someone sorts it out…

No offence to anyone, but I'd like the site to be enjoyable debate about the Millers.. it is certainly not enjoyable anymore & we need bans.

Its getting that way isn't it although I'm not in favour of bans per se. I joined this site from MM some years ago for the same reasons as yourself, and while I'm an infrequent poster, I do enjoy the 'Banter' and its the first place I come to to keep up with Millers news.
But over that time there have been a number of regular contributors who posted measured and considered opinions who have since disappeared, which was a sad loss to the forum. Disagreements were conducted in friendly debate and many a fierce debate too, but we didn't have this dreary repetitive garbage we are subject to on an almost hourly basis day after day week after week, (what do they do for the rest of their time?)

I would like to see a sin bin type of system; 'carry on and your suspended for a month' type of thing, with a six month ban after three suspensions, after all, it is about opinions, but you have to wonder whether we are reading real opinions or just wind up merchants getting off by annoying or upsetting everyone else,

Davidedin, Calypso,

Got to agree with what you have both said, some of the posts on here and MM are out and out attention seeking and nothing else. As for rants (God knows i have posted a few) it is all about the rants reasoning. Some of us "rant" out of sheer frustration and passion for the club that we see not being run how our "opinion" feels it should (got to be careful now this is building into a rant :) ).

My main beef is how some posters immediately discount another members opinion and it just that just because they don't attend every game home and away. Not all supporters can make all games, i myself do not attend any for reasons ill keep to myself. That does not mean i am not a passionate and dedicated supporter of the club and that my "opinion" should be discounted, sometimes quite rudely out of hand.

I dont post on either site as often as i did, i mainly come on hers as Calypso to try and catch up with Millers news and gossip as other avenues are to be honest crap or just mouthpieces for news which the club wishes us to believe.

Anyways rant over, glad to see MB back on line, might get a more balanced view on all things Millers again.

All. I go to all home games. TH does I know. We have a different of opinion especially: Richard Wood. Millers Banter have I got it wrong I thought it was about opinions. My opinion not liking this season so far at the New York. But still go. See what the January transfer window brings. We aren't a lost cause.

gwru, cant say im too chuffed about this season, 6th at this time might not be bad but it could be so much better. Anyways thats not the reason i no longer attend games. My point about opinions is that some posters out of hand dismiss some posts purely on the posters match attendance not their support for the club.

Warney gang are back in town you can't say anything about turgid home games we have had to endure so far. I hope we have a decent game against Fleetwood and we pick some points up over the xmas period. By the way millers recorded a £1.76 million profit last season what about three cheers for our brilliant chairman even some of you can't have a moan about that.

Not knocking the chairman but what use is making a profit getting relegated! How many millions are we down being in league 1 though then you've got to spend the extra money to stay up again.

When we lost £3.5 million the season before the books need to be balanced do you want us to be like Bury. Don't worry about it leave it to someone who knows what they are doing.

The thing is gwru and TH MILLER we all know your take on things and thats fine, its your opinion. It wouldn't do if we were all alike. But you say it over and over again and again and again.

Nothing ever alters on here. It's a two man band, a two man forum who have completely taken over the entire site.

Let me rub my eyes again. Yes, it is true - we really are top of the league! A marvellous sight. A moment to savour.

Sadly, back in the playground the children are still at their petty squabbling . . . .

Maybe if we can't have a ban we should introduce some sort of "excude these users posts from my view of the site" filter option..

Sorry for my part in it.  I find it difficult not to rise to the constant dross.  I will try to be better.
