The news Phil Parkinson has got the job they will go up as champions as i have said he was the man for me too late now we missed a trick there. I suppose we will have to endure warney for a bit longer life is not fair sometimes.

If you say anything on here anti Warney you are hung, drawn & quartered! but when a manager who was a free agent quality of Phil Parkinson is available I wanted him here. Warney could get us up again but keeping us up? But that's not all his fault. We work to a budget. Rotherham public don't back the club enough. Would be some performance by any manager to keep us up. Parkinson though Sunderland it's their gain.
Sunderland have always got a chance of going up out of league one with the resources at their disposal. They might have gone up with Ross in charge and they might go up with Parkinson in charge. If I was a Sunderland fan I wouldn't be particularly inspired by the appointment.
My dad supports Sundarland and he wanted them to go after Nigel Clough. You pay your money, you take your choice. I wouldn't ever want Parkinson here thanks.
As it stands Rotherham and Sunderland have both played 11 games. Rotherham have 18 points, Sunderland 19. It will be interesting to see who is higher up the table at the end of the season. Sunderland's home games have all had an attendance over 29000. What Tony Stewart and Paul Warne would give for that and what they might do with the income.
Sunderland have far superior resources to us and a much bigger fan base. Even the name such as Sunderland in the football fraternity has far more pulling power for potential signings than little old Rotherham: so I'd suggest they are more likely candidates for promotion, choose whoever is the manager.
That said we do have some memorable links with them:-
"After 32 minutes Sunderland took the lead when Vic Halom chested down a corner from Billy Hughes. Assisted by Dave Watson between two defenders, the deflected high ball was controlled by Ian Porterfield who shot home from 12 yards. "
Quote from Wikipedia. The 1973 FA Cup Final. Any names jump out to some of you old boys.
I also watched that match the best player I have ever seen in my lifetime watching the millers Ďave Watson played in that match. Went on to play 46 times for England what a player.
