They set out to stop hastie getting the ball and play deep playing spoiling tactics and it worked, ref was poor but none of that covers how we lack the ability to tactically change a game, that is worrying only 1 win at home and we cannot score at home. A lot of work to do
Total garbage poor passing no threat up front Ladapo waste of space no tactics and a manager that hasn’t got the ability to change things when it needs changing .either get warne some help on the coaching side or get rid of him and get someone in that can change it and is tactically aware . Be interesting what warne spouts our on praise or grumble , willing to bet he’s watched a different game to me .
We cannot score at home. If you ignore the half a dozen last week. But then again that was against Bolton, so it doesn't count, although I'm sure that Sunderland were happy to come away with a point after equalising in the last couple of minutes.
Warney that was shocking. With Jones playing no right hand side. Why is Crooks in the side then he always brings McDonald on whose gone. Barlaser can't be any good if he can't get in the side for those two. Wiles why is he taking corners? Ladapo & Morris couldn't win a ball in the air between them.
But it's a point & a clean sheet in a very poor game ruined by a poor referee & Shrewsburys time wasting. Stop the Billy big *******s talk we're a L1 club that's slightly above average, deal with it or stay at home.
Home games apart from Bolton teams rough us up a bit we have no answer Lyndsey and Crooks none existent midfield woeful. Defence was sound Jones did ok for me that is his first game this season showed his experience. Our managers subs had no effect on the game. Some one on Twitter said we have 2 in hand it is only 1 when do we play Bury I don't think they can count.
It's ok saying we're just above an average league 1 side but we had an above average budget to spend. No holding midfield player main problem then could play Lindsay on the right who can cross a good ball.
Jones was excellent stopped two certain goals. Issue for me is we have bought a lot of players but we do not have coaches that know what to do with them. Teams know they can come here 5 at the back defend play on the break because our coaching staff have no tactical idea. Warne admitted on the radio post the game that he know they would do that, so what was plan B .....smith with no pace for freddie ....why wasnt lamy given 10 to 15 mins to try something different.
Jones to me is same as last season. A full back he's got to be able to get forward. He can't so wouldn't be in my side.
Utter garbage, I'm with derbymiller, Jones along with Ihekwe were our best players today despite what the corporate hospitality ****heads say, one unbelievable goalsaving tackle a highlight. I swear if we won the fewking Champions League they'ed be two "members" that'd find something to moan at. I agree we weren't good today but for pity's sake get some fewking perspective
A message to Sir Bradley the miller if you could be bothered to read my post I was impressed with Jones a bit rocky the first 10 minutes to be expected one of our better players today. I think you need some new glasses.
Our problem is Warney he should have gone in April before he * another transfer window up. Jones if he plays needs a right sided player forward of him. Mcdonald & Crooks not good enough. Don't rate Ladapo & Morris or Vassell. Tell me different.

it is getting a bit tiresome hearing the same ****e from some posters...
that apart, I agree with some posts above that Ladapo is just not doing it.. I like him, I think he's got it in him, and it doesn't help that we are simply not creating enough chances. Someone needs to work with him on his first touch, which is shocking, and how to take a ball with his back to goal and find a red shirt with a pass...
Another issue are our set pieces, shocking corners in particular - lobbed to the back post where nobody was...
That apart, my main worry is we are not breaking teams down.
I can't see us going down but Warne needs to get his act together and get this team (which I think is a great squad) playing to their full potential and creating much much more in the final 3rd of the pitch..
Finally, Hastie has to be fit now, don't take him off, instead give him the ball occasionally... the lad will get fed up of being here soon if we don't create passes for him to run at defenders.
I know some people won't like it, but Warne's post-match comments were honest and very fair. We tried hard but Hastie and Wiles struggled to make much of an impact and we didn't get any real quality into the box from wide areas. Shrewsbury came to defend deep in numbers, niggle, waste time and try and get a point and they managed all of the above. It was frustrating that the ref let them get away with so much blatant time wasting (their keeper must have taken ten minutes out of that game today without getting a caution) but you can't blame Shrewsbury for taking advantage of the referee's generous nature. Plenty of other teams will come and play the same way and we have to be good enough to break these sides down. At present we are struggling to create chances against well organised teams who defend in numbers. It is obvious that Warne is very aware of the situation and I am sure that they will be working on it.
Having been promised by a very informed source that we would win 7-2 today, I was slightly disappointed! A couple of observations; Lapado is a box striker. He is a nightmare inside the penalty area but today he received the ball well outside and was caught out. Hastie is our greatest threat, but Joe M insisted on running the ball up to him and playing a short pass by which stage he was heavily marked. A more adventurous, long range pass giving Hastie the chance to run at the defence would have been far more productive. If Jones plays RB, we lack threat down the right side. This is fine if we have someone coming through the middle but that was missing today. We play some very neat stuff across the back four and involve the midfield, but there appears to be very little appetite for the midfielders to make direct runs at the opposition.
The plus point today was the impact that Smith had when he came on. His touch was class and the team appeared to respond very positively to his presence.
It's early days. We have a good squad but we're still coming to terms with lesser teams who pack the defence and officials who would be better off demonstrating against climate change than officiating football matches. Having missed the Bolton game for a date at the Albert Hall, I've yet to see Rotherham win this season. However, I'm not worried. The ingredients are there - we just need to find a way of breaking down these less competent sides with savvy tactics!
