Dingo Dollar ran a good race in last seasons Ladbroke, formally the Henessy. Went into my notebook. Didn't look an over small horse to me. Looks like would appreciate better ground. An old trainer years ago said the Henessy was the best trial for the National. Had a light campaign last season as a 7 year old. 8 when next years National is run. I'm keeping an eye on it's plan this season. You can tell if not entered in all the big handicaps over a distance feel National will be it's aim.
I can't understand prize money compared flat to NH. Today's Ebor worth more than the National. Cheltenham gold cup & champion hurdle. When I was on MM someone who hadn't got clue about the top gambled on races of the year both flat & NH so I checked the top 10 gambled races of that year this was 2 or 3 years ago. 8 out of 10 of the most gambled on races were on the NH. Ebor wasn't there. National was obviously no. 1. Cheltenham gold cup & champion hurdle were there. Also the King George at Kempton was there. I know it's to do with the richer owners on the flat paying the entry fees to enter more horses in races like the Ebor. But to the everyday punter it's doesn't seem to matter.
Know hardly anyone on here will be interested but just checked the top betting races of 2018. There's only the Derby on the flat at no.3 in the top 10. Only 8 flat races in the top 40. Ebor is not there.
