What happened to all these super fit players looking like the defence will be struggling at the weekend 2 games in they might have to put a night shift on in the treatment room. From what I saw on Tuesday give Cooper another game. It might just be me but the omens are not looking good.

Wood should be retired. I'm quicker than him! Ihiekwe will have to play right back. Cooper Robbo centre backs. Mattock feel will be fit. Should never have played Olosunde tues. He's like Mattock on the left he's our right side that's how bad this 4-3-3 is.

I told you all the squad is no way near big enough 2nd game and we are struggling, we recruit crocks as well, we are 4 players light in this squad

I'm particularly frustrated with Billy Jones. I don't know what is going on with him and players can get injured of course, but he seems to have a succession of non-descript niggling injuries. What is worse is that he is versatile and can cover a variety of positions.

We all know that we are short of a centre back and it will be a big surprise and disappointment if we don't get one in today, although I know that Jake Cooper is highly rated at the club and I wouldn't be sorry to see him get a chance.

The left back situation is just plain unlucky. We signed a good player to compete with Mattock for the position, and on the same day his clearance came through our own goalkeeper clattered into him which was all a bit freakish.

In a nutshell, we are one player short in the defensive positions which will hopefully be rectified today, and we need a bit of a break on the injury front. One more defender will give us eight senior defenders on the books plus Cooper and Hinds, which should be plenty.

Word is that while Olosunde is a minor doubt he will probably be fit, and it wouldn't surprise me if we start with the same back four that played at Wimbledon.

To be fair, not many managers will have a plan in place for losing all 4 full backs at once. Freak event but hopefully at least one will be fit to play..,

I could be proved wrong but I don’t think Jones has it in him to play anymore. Seemed the same last season with these odd little injuries.

With the other injuries I’m not sure they are fitness related. You can be as fit as you like but it won’t stop you getting a bang in the ribs or a bang on the ankle.

Would take a point now Saturday with the injuries we are carrying.

I am not sure where this information is coming from about injuries. The players reported in at Roundwood today at 10.00 hrs. They discussed areas of concern inside until 12.15 hrs then did 30 minutes of coaching mainly throw ins in the attacking half and how to create space in the box from them. Olosunde and Mattock took the throw ins and neither looked in any pain.
All the players were there including Lamy, Clarke and Jones. Clarke who had a leg brace on at Tuesdays game had no such brace on. I am not saying all three are available but progress is being made.
I do agree with Derby that we are players short and feel like Smiler that a player/players needs to be brought in this week. Warne was at the training ground so i am not expecting business today. The players went in for lunch (chinese) at 12.45 and were returning for heavier training at 13.45. Who was the one who ran several times around the perimeter of the training ground for around 25 minutes whilst the rest went in for lunch ? Our manager Paul Warne. He must be as fit now as when he stopped playing.

Smiler warne says nobody joining and we have only 3 fit defenders, you must live in Egypt .......as you are always in denial. Deal with the facts in front of you and stop being so blind to obvious issues that are highly likely to impact our season. First game a great result, I think we have recruited well but the maths clearly show we have reduced the squad too much. Shame we conceded so soon after half-time just like we did so often last year, I hoped we had addressed that problem. We have an exciting first team group, we lack width and not sure what our plan b is when the better coaches suss out our 433 approach, but we can only hope the management team have learned from last year and plan a on its own and like for like changes doesnt work. As the season unfolds we will see how much the coaches have improved. I think saturday will be a very hard game and I wouldn't be surprised if we lose, but I also can see us over powering them, it is a very interesting game to start with at home.

Denial....the Nile.....good one! I'm not sure why though. I think we need another defender in. I am quite happy to say so if I think the club gets things wrong. If it's right that nobody is coming in that's a disappointment. I think a very fair point was made earlier in the thread though - show me any club never mind any league one club that would be able to cope if it had two left backs and two right backs out injured at the same time. I'm encouraged by Whiston's Roundwood Report (thanks for it Whiston) and hope to see out first choice back four starting on Saturday. I think we all agree we are in for a tough game regardless.

If we could get one player in for Saturday for me would be a wide left player. We haven't got one. Cooper can go in defence. Looks about ready to me, just needs games. Could switch Ihiewke to RB if needed. Sure it was only a case of not risking Mattock not playing him tues.

I have got an answer to our defensive injury woes PUT WOOD IN HOLE I tried to tell you lot before the start of the season we are going to need him. Seen it all before when does he get injured when he plays in sìtuations like this he never lets us down.

Thanks for the first hand non-injury report Whiston - much better than relying on speculation and the usual Rotherham predilection to gloom, doom and despondency! If we can put out the same team as last Saturday, we could beat these Imps handsomely. I'm personally looking forward to travelling over to the game by train from Lincoln - whether to wear a Rotherham shirt or not - perhaps not till I reach Rotherham Central!

Billy Jones had a reputation as a "sick note" at previous clubs and i do wonder who did due diligence on him before he was signed. Hopefully Rob Scott is much smarter.
