The media soundbites are starting to get a bit contradictory now I think.
Supposedly after Tilt from Blackpool who are quoting near a million pounds, now we are waiting on loans and free transfers.
Don’t really want to get a the club but can imagine the budget being tight, that’s as well going off our two new additions who both haven’t played competive football for over a year. Hope I’m proved wrong but all these constant interviews about players/budget is just setting the club up to come under fire.
Nothing happening as usual the same platitudes coming out from the club keep hearing bits of rumours expecting another dour season can't see us going down nothing happened so far looks as if we are waiting for Vaulks and Ajahi to go that situation needs sorting out now.
I'll be less worried when it's confirmed Forde has signed for another club! It's simple wait till we get the Ajayi, Purrington & Vaulks transfer money in the kitty then get players in good enough.
I don't find it worrying at all. We've got two in so far. Looking locally, Barnsley and Doncaster have one in each, Wednesday none yet and the Blades none yet unless I'm mistaken. It is very early days. The club can't really win. They know they will get stick for inactivity if they are quiet and probably feel under pressure to say something and feed the demand/respond to the rumour mill. In a way it's our thirst for daily news that is the problem. Best if we can to trust the people concerned and let them get on with it in the knowledge that there is probably plenty going on behind the scenes that we can't know about, and that when there is something to report we will be told.

What an incredibly optimistic way of looking at things smiler, I hope & pray you're right.
This time last season we rode on a wave of optimism looking forward to being competitive in the second tier of English football & with a little investment we could possibly compete effectively. Sadly the FACT that we were (in 2nd tier terms) skint & we couldn't compete even with the likes of PNE & Brentford slowly became evident despite Tony's assurances. No shame in that especially seeing Bolton & other clubs plight but surely we can afford a little team strengthening for our return to L1.
Warnie is on freeview on the OS talking about the loan market when we should be looking at permanent moves, especially in the GK position where we haven't had our own number 1 since Adam Collin really.

I'm not trying to be wise after the event Brad, but I never thought for one moment ahead of last season that we were going into it financially competitive with anyone in that league. I think I said so at the time and I think despite trying to give upbeat messages about us giving it a good go (which we did) Warne made it clear in pre-season that we were up against it.
There is no doubt we will have a mix of permanent signings and loans coming in. My own view on long term loan signings is that they should bring that bit of extra quality that we can't afford to pay for on our permanent wage structure, rather than just plugging gaps in the squad.
I agree with you that goalkeeper is a position where we should have our own player rather than a loanee if possible.
To be honest, I hate the transfer market and transfer window. It puts a lot of what is bad about the game in the spotlight.

totally agree... all it does is line the pockets of agents who play clubs off against each other and play silly games, and stops proper 1 to 1 talks and negotiations... it should be scrapped.
