Apparently that sage of all knowledge twitter is reporting Blackburn are trying to do a swap Vaulks for Smallwood they are having a laugh yesterday's man if we fall for that one we are going backwards be better off letting him run his contract out show some guts Rotherham and tell them to do one.

Why is Smallwood yesterdays man. He has played 78 times for a decent Blackburn team. He is only 28 and still lives in this area. A million plus Smallwood would be good business in my eyes.
Have you changed your tune about Vaulks TH. Did you once say he should never play for Rotherham again and you wouldn't watch the Millers if he did, or have i got the wrong person

Smallwood made Potter look like a box to box midfielder! No way want Smallwood back he was so negative + he left us for a better deal. Once they do that don't want them back.

I don't like Vaulks but he has got a value and if its true we would be complete mugs to do a deal like like that I would do a swop with Bradley Dacks near my value we have got to stop being little old Rotherham we do what we did with Alfie massives didn't want pay our value did a good deal with Reading I am sure our chairman is astute enough to make sure we get a good deal.

Smallwood would walk back into our team. Very good footballer at league one and not bad in the championship either.

I would welcome Smallwood back. An underestimated player in my opinion. The sort as a player you would want in your side alongside you - a really good professional. He left because we offered him much reduced terms when we were relegated last time, and we had sent him out on loan to Scunny during that season. You couldn't blame him for moving to Blackburn. He's a very, very good League One player and not a bad Championship performer. As for Dack, we would need to find £10m plus to buy him. I'm not sure what planet THMiller is on. Tell Vaulks to do one, or sell him for loads, or let him rot in the reserves.  Classic.  That's from someone who keeps telling someone else how to run a football club.

smiler Evans got us Smallwood. Know what you think of Evans. TH miller if you read his posts was when Vaulks got sent off then went to play for Wales reason he had a downer on Vaulks. Smallwood majority of the Blackburn fans want him gone. He's a one trick pony, nothing positive. Keep clear.

I couldn't run a chip leave it to our chairman to run the club I will never moan about him I am just hoping we get a decent deal for Vaulks hopefully we can use that money to get a few decent signings in need to move on I shall not shed any tears if he goes.

Don't be daft gwru.  I can't stand Evans, but does that mean that he didn't bring any good players in?  Of course it doesn't.  He churned an awful lot of dross along the way, but players like Frecklington, Arnason, Morgan and Agard to name a few who he brought in were excellent players for us and it would be stupid to say otherwise.

Frecklington was at his best when he had Smallwood next to him, and there was a reason for that.

In any case it is the start of silly season for rumours so its all academic.  I won't believe any of it until deals are signed sealed and delivered.

Get's me on this site. Some posters on here just want it for there little gang of not that many. Same on MM they don't get me. I think on my feet like I did when I was working in engineering, same as when I study horses. You've got move forward, think quick. Smallwood was ok in league 1 when he 1st played for us but Vaulks is two or three times the player Smallwood as ever been. If Vaulks goes I want the next Vaulks on the way up. Not Smallwood on the way down.

You seem to be a bit of an enigma gwru. You talk about having to move forward yet constantly drag up the past, re Evans, JCH, Bailey King and want to bring back players who for one reason or another didn't cut the mustard and were sent out on loan, so i think your message often seems muddled and perhaps misunderstood.

That said, there have been times when you have been right. You championed Wiles' inclusion into the first team for long enough to the point of being tiresome, but by all accounts has done reasonably well, although I haven't seen him play. I have agreed on occasions with some of your posts and I agree on your final, well said point "If Vaulks goes I want the next Vaulks on the way up. Not Smallwood on the way down. " So yes, we do have to move forward.

I can see where Gwru and Towdlad are coming from when they say we don't want a situation where we replace Vaulks, with Smallwood on the way down. However, i dont think Vaulks and Smallwood are comparable. Vaulks is more a box to box man who has filled in on occasions in defensive midfield, whereas Smallwood is a sitter in front of the defence. As Smiler said earlier Smallwood allowed Frecklington free license to get forward when he could. Next season i see Wiles and Crooks as the more attacking central midfielders. In my opinion they require a Smallwood type player to allow them to flourish. I am not saying Smallwood is the answer but because he lives local and i feel Blackburn want to move him on he is an option we could look at.

Seems very quiet on the transfer market I don't know about the window being open looks like we are hiding behind the curtains probably be the usual a few free signings and the loan market it's like grounding day.

Alleged comment from Blackburn they are looking for technically gifted players but Vaulks is not one of them Smallwood (also known as the crab he only passes sideways) as someone has said on here we are in the silly season.
