Think delay is waiting to see which wingers want to stay. Williams would think we want to keep but probably his agent he's put it in his head he's a championship player. Barnsley released him 2 yrs ago when they got promoted to the championship. He's best of our wingers but can't make him stay. My choice keep Williams & Taylor. Forde I wouldn't keep & if we kept Newell I'd only give him a years contact.

He's another slow burner. I think he's twenty now. We loaned him out to Frickley last September and he found it tough going there. He signed pro terms with Kayode and McGinley, but all three have struggled to breakthrough. Lets hope they do it next season. Giving Akeem a year contract might indicate either Mattock or Purrington is moving on.

Luton Town are Interested in Mattock a million pounds player of the season in my view might be a bit of truth in it with our leader saying he will have another look at Purrington lookèd ok against Donny and with Hinds signing a 1 year extension my opinion give him a 3 year contract make him club captain waste of time going there they will be straight back down.

Mattock been good this year and I dont think Purrington is owt special- he looked slow the last time he got a run in the team.

Watched play off match James Norwood impressed me wòrth a look at league 1&2 not a big difference we have proved that so have Luton this last season that Conor Jennings not good enough transfer window opens on Thursday or for us is it slightly ajar.

Think the players who have gone were to be expected I agree we need to move on need some fresh blood in the team over to you Mr Scott. Sort out wingers next try to keep Williams give him a 3 year contact show some ambition we have to prove to some of our players that we are going to have a crack at going up next season get some decent Signings in.

Potter was too big a risk to keep at his age especially with his injury record over the last 18 months. We are in talks with the wide men. TH says give Williams a three year deal and show some ambition. Not sure Ryan has earned a contract at all let alone one for three years. I know i am going over old ground but it looks like you have to. Williams 24 starts and 15 as sub, only two assists. He also stuttered in division one and came on as sub in the play off final ( starred when he came on). I think it might be time to move him on. He has been involved in 81 games for us and his pace takes the eye but his end product does not.
Will Vaulks played 41 times last season had seven assists and scores as well.Lets show some ambition and offer him a three year deal. He will be much harder to replace than Ryan Williams.l Fear he is on his way and will be a good buy for a chapionship club.

We need a Potter-type player but a younger, fitter version although he is a classy player when fit so that wasn't a simple decision. The rest are pretty predictable. On the wingers whilst I acknowledge the part they all played in helping us get out of League One last time I don't feel strongly about keeping any of them now. I've never really understood what Forde is good at. I never ever fancy him to beat a man and get a shot or cross away and he rarely surprises me. Taylor runs down a lot of blind alleys. Personally I would let those two go. If I had to pick two to keep it would be Newell and Williams but in all honesty they have both been hit and miss and unable to pin a starting place down. If we kept those two and added others I would be ok with that, but all four left and we started afresh I'd have no problem with that either.

whiston01 Williams: what have the other 3 wingers done to earn a contract before Ryan Williams. I can't see anything. Hope for Warney yet, if Forde goes I'll be more onside with our current manager. I'm all for offering Vaulks a 3 year contract but same as you he proved he's a championship player last season. Only thing we've got Vaulks will play for us, sure he doesn't want to be sat on the bench at a bigger club.

Don't think i said the other three wingers deserve a contract more than Williams, gwru. I was responding to TH saying we should give him a three year contract. I am with Smiler on this. None of the four we have have blown me away in the last couple of seasons. All four are fair but if you are looking to a winger to make assists, then Newell and Forde have a better record than Williams and Taylor, but again their records are not brilliant either.

Simple all 4.players have strengths and weaknesses. The fact they are perceived to certain negative aspects to their playing style is why they are league 1 players. Otherwise they would be championship players. Me I would keep Newell and Williams as wingers Turn Taylor into a number 9 playing in front of Smith or vassell

Mattock: sounds like we can't agree terms with him for a longer contract. Get Purrington back, he's got a year to go on his contract. Hope we have the option on his contract for a extra year. Both of them won't stay, one of them not 1st choice.
