Millwall lost tonight I am afraid our manager has got to take the blame for us losing against Birmingham always play your best team 1-0 up at half time pathetic team selection we would have still have had a chance on Sunday I am still surprised he is still here.
Somebody is to blame. We were only playing 3 loan players. Even if we couldn't pay the going rate in wages any manager worth his salt would have gone out & got us two loans like Evans did to give us the best chance of staying up. Head of recruitments have made managers lazy. It looks to me we are happy to be back in league 1. Rotherham public look at their
selves as well. Apart from when it opened they haven't backed us at the New York.
Like I have said before
Tony for his lack of proper investment but will use Ipswich as a example of wrong investment
Warne for his team selection and formation sometimes it.paid off a lot of times it didn't.
Lessons have to be learned seriously
Here is what Howard Webb had to say. ' Despite relegation,i've never been prouder to be a miller. A group of players who gave everything, lead by a manager who is the most dignified man i know in sport, followed by loyal supporters who stick by their team through thick and thin. Already looking forward to next season. UTM'. Well said Howard.
How do we move on from where we are know I agree with gwru it has to start with the Rotherham public if more people started attending games there would be more money coming in the chairman can only run the club as he is now the only good thing we are not in a financial mess like Ipswich and Bolton I am grateful for that. I just feel it's time for a change the football we have seen last season has been to negative I haven't been to one game thinking we are going to win today we want a few players on the pitch who are going to get bums on seats but with this manager we have know I can't see it.
I will repeat Smiler. How many times do we have to go over this. Please look at Companies House website to verify this. The money from matchday income and Season tickets makes up less than 25% of our total income. In 2016.17 when we were last in the Championship the matchday/season ticket sales accounted for less than 20%.
Matchday income 2017/18 Matchday income 2016/7
£1.032m £935k
Season Tickets 2017/18 Season Tickets 2016/17
£1.174m £1.331m
Sponsorship 2017/18 Sponsorship 2016/17
£ 4.819m (big input by T.S to balance books) £ 2.917m
Central Distribution 2016/17 (sky/Premier league) Central Distribution 2017/18
£1.778m £6.56m
Total Income 2016/7 Total Income 2017/8
£9.968m £12.95m
There is a little bit of other income to add to make up the totals but i think it shows the season ticket sales have a small influence of what we can actually spend.
TS in an interview clearly stated that the head of recruitment reported to PW, he is accountable for the players we have, he has been here 2.5 seasons now that is 4 transfer windows, this guy is Mr teflon to some, just because he is a nice guy and loves the club. His interviews are awful, I think he is about to start crying on them and yes his father is ill, and I do understand and feel for him on that, but his friends in the media are quoting it and using it as an excuse (I want to point out PW himself is not). I lost my father in 2014 and it was devastating, I had 2 weeks off work and then i went back to work, ran my team of 90 people across 3 continents. I dealt with my grief in a sensible, pragmatic way by speaking to a grief counsellor and doing my F'ing job. For gods sake before the WBA game he played them George Michael and had everyone hugging each other, it is more like a Buddhist commune than a football club. By the way the hugging did not work, we made the same mistake as we always do and not concentrate immediately after conceding and we conceded again 2 mins later, perhaps some football coaching by an experienced successful coach rather than his three mates my help.
Failure in itself is not an issue, what is an issue is not learning by your mistakes and failures. If he believes his current approach, methods, coaching team, player selection, in game tactics etc are working we have a huge problem. All those things need addressing and if he is this great leader, he will learn and adapt and keep doing that.
I've not bothered what Howard Webb says, he's up his own arse. I've been to all home games this season, seen all red button away games. How many games out of them did we out play the opposition? We played well at home against Sheff U. Better at home against Sheff W our best performance of the season in terms of should have won by two goals or more. We were extremely lucky to beat Swansea at home, also had luck on our side against Preston at home. All other games we won by the odd goal, could have gone either way. Recruitment both transfer windows this season were shocking. whiston01 is quoting accounts. We all know we have the lowest budget this season in the championship so why waste money on no hopers & giving 2 year contracts to Wood whose past it or extending Proctor's contract whose injured. Next season we need to be more business like, no giving contracts to players who failed this season or extending Potter's contract another who was past it when h came here.
For what it's worth I've got fond memories of George Michael when I was courting in the eighties, the 1980's. A Different Corner released in 1986. What's not to like? Most of my family have now passed away. The remainder live in different parts of the world. They have chosen their individual paths for what they saw, at the time, as a way to a better life. As for Buddha? Never disrespected his existence or teachings.
There's something to be gained from a hug if it's welcomed and appropriate. I used to have an aunt, Roswitha. When I was a youngster she used to hug me but didn't know when to let go. It was sad when she emigrated to Canada but I was glad that someone else was going to experience her love and vice like grip.
UTM!

I dont think we can hold the Rotherham public in sharing the blame by not backing the club. I'd say its up to the club to make Rotherham United a club worth watching particularly since we have clubs like Wednesday and the Blades on the door step. Success breeds success but promotion - relegation - promotion - relegation will not convince anyone (except die in the wool supporters) despite all the glitz and glamour of NYS, Many would think its not worth the while upsetting the wife by going to watch the Millers instead of being dragged around Meadowhall
The lack of ambition by a succession of owners/directors of RUFC over the 40+ years I've been a fan has been there for all to see. In defence of the percieved "thriftyness" it would take a monumental shift in attitude by the paying Rotherham public to even start to justify expansion as a club so we are where we are unfortunately.
I think you missed the point as to why i posted the accounts. It shows that if our average gates went up by a couple of thousand the effect on spending power would be negligible. Lets compare with Barnsley who are going to take our place. Have they a better chance of staying in the division? Yes. Not because they have a better manager but because they are better equipped for it. They have been a premier league club and sold good young players for big money. They re- invested in a training ground which allows them to become a category two academy, which has produced those better younger players. They have a bigger fan base and ground than us which will play a small part. What they also have is backers with much deeper pockets than T.S.. I expect Barnsley to have a decent chance of staying up with the good young side they have and also the sort of backing that is required in the Championship. Good luck to them.
