Didn't end well for Sir Erec did it? Dead almost before the winner crossed the line. I think racing is an awful sport. Its enjoyed
predominantly by three categories of people. An element of the upper classes for whom its a glamorous hobby, ****ed up yobs of either gender who embarrass themselves on days out at the races, and people who just use it as a vehicle to feed a gambling habit and who would bet on flies crawling up a wall if they televised it in the bookies and covered it in the Racing Post. I don't get the attraction at all.
Well done gwru ! Smiler. Most racing fans (and that includes many RUFC supporters) don't fit into any of those categories. Bit of an ill-judged and unnecessary snipe. Out of character with your usual intelligent posts !
That's my impression of horse racing, although I was careful to acknowledge that my observation was very generalised. I will take the comments on board. Apologies for any offence caused.
smiler. I don't mind at all. No offence from me taken. If you aren't an horseracing fan you wouldn't have the slightest interest what I've tipped. But it's the only meeting the Cheltenham festival I'll tip everyday. It's for me the best horseracing meeting of the year. I used to be in a racing club go to flat in the spring, jumps in the autumn but jumps is far more exciting for me. I scoured the racing post & attheraces sites for most of those tips cause I don't see any Irish racing now. You need the Irish form at Cheltenham.
