I will always back my team but this relegation battle seem to be slipping away from us. The matches coming up where are the points going to come from it's very harsh to blame the manager with the funds he has had. QPR next never known us get a win there I think I can remember us getting a point when Emlyn Hughes was our manager then there is the nice easy home game against Norwich. Good job there is an international break I need a rest.
Odds on to go down. All season we haven't had a left winger. Did nothing about it in January. What do we expect.
Just watched brief highlights from today. I'd appeal against the Vaulks sending off. Didn't go in with intent of causing serious injury, wasn't in a goalscoring position. Booking at most. Millwall or us. Could go either way. They aren't pulling no trees up.

Our chances of staying up were made harder by one fact and one fact only
Total lack of speculative investment in the club. how was we expected to survive with out extra capital. Yes Tony has has been subsidising us like other clubs. Understand his moral high ground about agents and transfers etc. But unfortunately that's the world we live in. So this policy has left Warne to play limitation tactics.
PLUS We only have Yates as our striker cover and with Smith Playing with a broken you worries me !!!!!!. Also with Vassell out for lets be honest whats left of the season I might be wrong but no goals in a league game. Free transfer maybe but hasn't pulled any trees up.
Ball on loan. With our tactics surely he would been a better option playing behind Smith. IMO.
Onwards and upwards be interesting to see who plays in vaulks place for the matches v QPR Norwich then derby away

I more or less gave up hope of retaining our Championship status after the January window closed. For what ever reason, we once again failed to make any significant investment to help us put a wedge in and claw our way from the bottom three. Equally as disappointing as our summer efforts where our business there did not bring in anywhere near enough the standard that was required to give us any real sporting chance of staying up. Even accounting for injuries, which do have to be taken into consideration as they are always going to happen, we failed to provide for adequate cover.
A Miller since 1960 and I've seen this carry on so many times its wearisome. Irrespective of who was the manager or the chairman or the squad, we never, ever, build on success; we enjoy the day out, then its business as usual. Is there any wonder the Rotherham public do not respond, they like me have seen and heard it all before.
Of course we hope against hope and there is an outside chance that we may be lucky, but having key players sent off and banned for 3 crucial games only serves to lessen the chances of a successful outcome. We make life even harder for ourselves don't we, as is the Rotherham way. And of course don't mention the goal difference. It could be that, that takes us down.
We should move on very quickly from last Saturday's defeat. Is it now time to play 4-3-3? Tossing the ball long to one lone striker with a reported broken toe will never cut the mustard. Lofting the ball forward to three forward players would be more adventurous. If we're going down, as many believe we will, then let's be more forward thinking and positive in our approach play. Most of of our opponents have got our game plan sussed out by now. Long balls to Smudge and then what? Zilch. Nothing. Nil points. Long throws from our Captain, Vaulks? How many goals has that produced? Well, apart from the one from Ajayi just over a week ago not many if any at all. I'd even go far as to stick Ajayi further forward just behind Smudge to win some headers and mix it up a bit. Wiles or Crooks in for Vaulks? I reckon that could work.
I've resigned myself into believing that we'll probably not win many games between now and the end of the season if we continue to play either 4-5-1 or 4-1-4-1.

They have tough away games which include Sheff Utd, Leeds, Villa and Wigan on the last day of the season. At home they also have tough games which include W.B.A, Bristol.C and Stoke. They are also in the F.A cup so have extra games to play in a busy period.

I also believe we are preparing for the future and keeping up the Ronnie boys link by employing Rob Scott as our Director of Recruitment or whatever the name is. Apparently he has some great contacts home and abroad.

Maybe I should have posted that we have enough decent cover in midfield with the unfortunate absence of Vaulks when referring to Wiles and Crooks, whiston01? If Vaulks were to move on in the Summer, now is the time to start planning for the future without him. I've always maintained that no one player is bigger than the club he plays for especially if he is banned for a number of games.
Fair comment Wotsisname. No one player is bigger than the club you are correct there. What about a different style of play, especially if we go down. Get Palmer in and play the ball out from the back instead of lumping it. That would then give players like Wiles, Williams and Newell a chance to get hold of the ball instead of picking up bits and spending most of their time tracking back. We have to find another style of play after this season whatever division we are in. Just too predictable but hopefully it will do for now to keep us up.

I'm not a massive fan of Crooks either, doesn't look like a championship footballer to me. Only option is Vyner at right back, Jones at left back. Mattock in front of him. Towell for Vaulks. Sooner see Hinds than play right sided players at left wing.
We haven’t had the gumption? / ambition? / means? to strengthen the squad and make a proper fist staying in the Championship this season. What makes anyone think anything would change if we stayed up. I’m all for applauding a backs to the wall fight for survival if there was some light at the end of the tunnel. At times there’s been some stirring matches but for the most part it has been grim: emphasis on defence with attack very much limited to hoofing up to a sole striker. Maybe due to the quality of players we have that style of play was a survival necessity. But it isn’t pleasing on the eye and even should we stay up then another season watching that again would not be an attractive proposition.
For a variety of reasons the whole club seems to have become immune from criticism.
The owner undoubtedly financed past success and the new ground. How on earth could we criticise him for not finding the extra investment that would have made a difference.
The manager was sort of lumbered with the job but is a great guy and through creating a great team spirit has probably overachieved with the lack of resources he has been given. Surely we can’t criticise him.
The players have always put in a shift and endeavour to make up for any lack of quality through honest graft. How could we criticise them.
Some might say it has all become rather too cosy.
Hopefully, we will stay up and the increased revenue from the EFL next season might just jolt the club into spending some of it to improve the squad.
