 We'll lose 2-1. Stop.

As for German player? Stop.  I know nothing. Stop.

End of message.

I will take a draw.

In a very tight league, Wigan has done well and have stopped the yo-yoing for a little time at least. Did a hell of a lot of business in the transfer pantomime. half a dozen in and a few out including Grigg (good for us), but of course replaced by Clarke (always a handful.

Decent manager and a solid team. Dont draw many at all but manage to see out games a hell of a lot once in front.

In contrast, we don't win and draw loads and lose loads. Similar stats except for the draws with Wigan boasting (!) a record-breaking 5!!!

so, it looks like someone is going away with a positive result tomorrow. Let's hope it's our turn.

PW has definitely felt the wind change and has caught up with most of the observers. He now seems to want to play 2 up, but his attacking formation is more in name than form. He can talk about 3-5-2 but unless the intent is to penetrate the middle and take risks to advance midfielders in the last 3rd it would be more descriptive to call it a belt and bracers formation.

Wigan seem to prefer a very ergonomic 4-2-3-1 especially away with changes at home swapping to a 4-3-3 and 3-5-2 at times. Cook obviously feels he has a decent squad and it is an experienced one. Reece James a Chelsea season loan has been getting plaudits and with players like clarke, Garner, Jacobs, Roberts and Olsson this is a team with some ability and strength. Like us, they have had some injuries to key individuals but all looks settled again now and cook probably has a full squad to choose from again, They will be tough opponents and have a nice mix of flair and seasoned good professionals at this level. Possibly some issues with age in key positions but as everyone knows good professionals never lose their ability and gamesmanship.

Clarke will still be pacy and very strong and garner and roberts will be looking to really play the man and disrupt the play in any way they can. They have lost the out anout pace of Grigg thankfully, but as suggested they do score from lots of places.

I will be praying for a mighty merry millers win

I am being too kind about a possible 2-1 defeat to Wigan. Stop. It could very well be more. Stop. We don't appear to be too good at holding the ball up and keeping possession. Stop. We have been too hurried in our approach work. Stop. We need to be much braver. Stop.Hit and hope will never win games. Stop. Opposition teams know our weaknesses. Stop We need to work on our finishing. Stop. I've said it before, move Ajayi further forward just behind Smudge. Stop. A faint heart never won a game, or something to that effect. Stop.

End of message

Game we can win. I'd only play Wood if there's nobody else. Remains to be seen if Ihiekwe has got over last seasons play off jitters. Forde is the only player I can see we have who can play Right wing back. When Williams comes back can he play there? Got Newell to revert back to 4-5-1 if it's not working.

I saw the different things you did, but always you yourself you hid. I felt you push, I heard you call, I could not see yourself at all. O wind, a-blowing all day long, o wind, that sings so loud a song! Will it be our midfielders hiding? Wood or Clarke doing the pushing? Vaulks the calling? Come 4.50 which set of fans will be singing? One thing is for sure - the wind is a-blowing. 2-1 to the Millers.

I don't think i am sticking my neck out by saying this will be close. Both teams average around a goal a game. They have scored three goals more than us in the league. Away from home they are poor winning one and drawing two, scoring 12 goals on their travels. Their highest scorers have four goals.
Its interesting that gwru says he would only play Wood if there was nobody else. Wood has started 19 games and we have collected 18 pts when he played. We have won only five in the league and Wood played in four of them. I have been as critical as anybody about Woods lack of pace but stats suggest we are better with him in the team. I think he will play Wood today to combat Clarke as i said in a previous post. My prediction is perm any three results 1-1 , 0-1 and 1-0 .

I agree with you Whiston01 - I wouldn't always play Wood but it is horses for courses and he could be the right man to mark Leon Clarke, who doesn't have much pace but is a big physical presence. Look out for a bruising battle between those two.

Wood: remember the Brentford game. Him & Robertson play left centre back but Robertson he's a better quicker player. We are at home a game we have got to target to win not like last week. We don't need 4 centre backs in the side. Ajayi is never a midfield player.

That was the first game of the season where we played 4.4.2 with last years players given a chance. I also remember the Brentford game at home where Ajayi and Robertson were given a roasting by quick thinking and fast moving forwards. I think he might give 3.5.2 a crack at home today gwru with Ihiekwe , Wood and Robertson as the back three. The problem with that might be the wing backs who would have to get forward but also get back quick to stop the crosses getting into Clarke. With no Vassell available it would mean Yates possibly partnering Smith, something i don't think is potent enough. Warney likes to play Taylor at home. Could this be the game he partners Taylor with Smith ? He might revert back to 4.5.1 who knows. Whatever he does it will be close in my opinion.

Ikie was immense at Wigan last season, best showing since the days of Macca / Swailes - if he did that week in / out of course he would be above our pay grade.

whiston01 I've got the wrong game. It's when Wood played for offside in a recent home game. It wasn't, gave oppositions 1st goal away.
