The result today was typical relegation form did it 2 years ago when we should have got a draw against Huddersfield last few minutes they scored a winner.
Haven't been able to go today so I can't criticise any of the players. Trouble is we don't expect to win games against teams at the top but those around us just as bad no forward scored again.
Millwall next week never get a thing there don't expect anything exciting by next Thursday division 1 here we come.
Couldn't agree more. I really don't want to listen to Warne & how proud he is of the team, nor his reasons for not getting deals "over the line", in simple terms we're fewked & are going down end of story.
Just seen1st half on BBC Millwall is going to be a tough place to go next week never got nowt there fear for Warneys job we are in sacking territory here. Probably got 3 exiting days to see if we can bring anybody in we need a miracle.
Crying out for investment, but I think the chairman has ruled that out with his interview.
I agree with the overall point he made concerning cashing in on lower league players. The continued climate in football is so inflationary that it would be easy for us to go on a continued slide.
I continue to try and look at the historical facts, including today's. I doubt there is a club in England that has punched above its weight in the last several years-not one. Brentford and Bournemouth would be the only contenders in the quest for best pound for pound fighter- We would stroll it based on being in the unique category of having no money by comparison.
Not sure the negativity is warranted after a great effort today. The top of the league roll up with a big loud following and full of expectancy. The millers had the best of the first half and go in with a goal lead from a great strike by Semi. I don't remember Rodak having much to do apart from getting down to stop a weakish shot from the right.
In the second half they begin to probe and pass the ball well getting forward quicker (No 11 sub made a difference) and they score early after hesitancy in our defence. We then, as all teams of less quality do, defend a bit deep and enable them space to pass it around in front of us. Give us some credit though, there were some great performances from Mattock, Vaulks, Jones and at 1-1 only a world class save stopped us from going 2-1 up against the league leaders.
I went away thinking what a great effort from our team and not thinking we are doomed. Of course we still lack that championship quality but if we put in performances like that for the rest of the season it will go to the wire. I have been as critical as anyone about Jones, but today after a shaky first ten minutes he showed he has that cool head and good positional sense to tighten up our back line. Lets hope his fitness allows him to play to that level for the rest of the season. Plenty of positives for me, including the cameo of vassell who looked a threat and had pace to worry defenders. Also Crooks coming on and slotting in well. Players playing with knocks and recovering from illness and our two most gifted players out, its got to be a glass half full hasn't it ?
whiston01 two most gifted players out. Williams & Newell? Agree but Newell to bring on. On yesterday's performance would say chances of stopping up look better. Get these two signings in this week. Thought Mattock & Vaulks stood out. Towell put a shift in. Raggett played well. Makes me think about switching to a 3-5-2 formation. Then we can get two up front.
Just watched match on u tube what was Robertson doing just put your foot through it and put the ball in row z same Yates if in doubt kick it out. How long can we go on losing matches something has to be done its no good saying we played well we lost do what Millwall did last night play ugly Mr Warne will have to put his halo in his back pocket and come out fighting next week is going to be a real battle lose that that's it no coming back for us.
Shouldnt have changed midfield, even if Towell was hanging out of his arse when he was taken off, surely he would have been ok for another 7/8 minutes.
I admit when I get it wrong. We were holding Leeds but when we put Yates on the left he didn't have the experience there. It cost us there 2nd goal. Towell put everything in, did his job. I agree sure he would have lasted out till the end of the game. But as a team we were tiring in the 2nd half. I haven't got the answer
I don't think it was the experience that cost Yates gwru. It was the fact he needed an extra touch or thought he had enough time to move the ball on. I also feel this is the weakness in Towells game. He needs that extra touch or a bit more time. Its all about the better players movement, finding space, comfortable on the ball, first touch etc. We are what we are and the effort we are putting in will take us close to safety like it is doing now. The big question is do we invest and take a couple of loans in on bigger money to keep us up, or do we keep what we have and purchase lower division players like Rose who will not rock the boat financially. Sadly in the climate we are in i think it will be the latter option and possibly then relegation does beckon.
Whatever these two signings if they happen will determine our season. Need to be the right age. If we could find two like Vaulks who keeps going when others don't we'd have more chance of stopping up. K Davis would need a proper medical, any maybe's it's got to be no. I'm thinking it's Rose but just hope Smith keeps fit, he's the only target man we have. We need a wide player. We are unlucky with Williams & Newell being injured. Forde & Taylor: how many chances did we make against Leeds? I'd say none apart from Ajayi goal & Vaulks shot.
Bolton /Reading tonight expecting a Reading win in we go into the bottom 3 and that's where we will stay does anybody think we will climb out of it. We will probably go down but being a lifelong miller I shan't be down for long getting a season ticket no matter what.
I honestly can't see where the next win is seems to me we are no better than 2 years ago not much fun at the moment. Oh for the mad bad days when Stevie was here I know some of you are not on his Christmas card list but lets be honest it was a lot more exciting.
I presume you were joking TH Miller when you said we are no better than two years ago. In 46 games that season we got 23 pts letting in 98 goals. I think our fate that season was sealed before the end of 2016 when we lost to Burton Albion. This season with 29 played we have two more points and are currently fourth bottom. On Saturday we pushed the league leaders hard and competing in most games. Compare that to two years ago and i think you would agree there is no comparison.
No guarantee we will go into the bottom three tonight because Reading have only won one away game all season. I do accept they have had a go at staying up and signed on four new signings which look to have some quality about them. If we do go into the bottom three tonight i still think we have a chance of getting out, but realise it will be difficult.
I am not to concerned if we go down with our budget what do we honestly expect as long as we are in no debt.
With just got 2 days now to bring any new players in not expecting anything at all there not much difference at all most matches we either put up a bit of a fight or we get a pasting. WE do seem a bit better organised not enough quality to affect the game in the last 20 minutes.
Just heard on radio we are trying to bring players in agents must be making a right killing this week might be better saving the money for next season.
Not sure that RUFC are going to get into too much debt and splash the cash on new players and agents' fees. We'll probably opt for a couple of loan deals after the transfer window is well and truly shut. We were teased last week, in the build up to the Leeds game, that we were in the market for at least one new player. That ensured a surge in ticket sales and a 'full house'. Some would say that's good business. I say that it's misleading. I don't think RUFC will miss my support if I choose not to renew my season ticket for 2019-20. I'll make my final decision before the end of the season. I won't even have to phone a friend.

TBH do the club deserve St holders loyalty when we fans are being misled & lied to at the end of Every transfer window? Warne is trying his level best with his hands tied even though we all wish he could be more adventurous with his team selection/tactics etc but the Head of Recruitment post is a joke, we Are preparing for L1, we Will be relegated due to under ambition & woeful under investment. On one hand I applaud TS for his Insistance on keeping the club on a sound financial footing but I have to criticize his public "PL ambitions" rhetoric which builds up hope in the happy clapper & knuckledraggers but insults the intelligence of the rest of us. A season of L1 Mediocrity would be perfect for Warne in order for him to develop more than one style of play, bri g in more realistic targets & build on the team spirit that evidently exists now so when we laun h another promotion push we are better prepared both on and off the field for our next push at the second tier.
