What I've heard (but it could be wrong) is that he never settled here. I think as a full back in The Championship he would be found out as short of a yard of pace. It may well be that Charlton will be willing and able to fund a bigger portion of his wages than Wimbledon were, and he should enjoy being part of a promotion push more than being in a relegation battle. Charlton might also be a better bet for a permanent move at the end of the loan. I worry about the lack of cover for Mattock (Jones always injured, Hinds untested and wouldn't want to take a fit Robertson away from centre back) buy having said that having Purrington in there wouldn't fill me with confidence.
I would have kept him. He is good enough for cover and at times I think he looks like he had a bit more in him. In any case its very risky to simply have no specific cover. Is this a case of PW and his philosophy of the heart ruling the head. I think so.
when he played last season we hardly lost, at portsmouth away he was outstanding and it was our first away win in ages, he is a good player and all PW did was waste what little money we have. If he hasn't settled shows the PW great humans is a not all it is cracked up to be
I'm amazed Charlton signed him on loan. I watched him for us at The Valley last season. They must not have been paying much attention. He would be badly exposed at this level. If I was being critical of us it would be for the fact that we spent so much on him to start with, not that we are loaning him out. We spent what for us us decent money and it hasn't paid off.
When you consider how little we pay, relatively, for players, it's interesting and disappointing to note that when we have actually shelled out decent money, the results have been underwhelming - Clark-Harris, Purrington and Taylor spring to mind!
Thought JCH till he got that injury was showing something. Purrington Taylor Palmer not lived up to whoever whatever they saw in them. Interesting we are offering Ryan Williams a new contract. No mention of new deals for Taylor or Forde. Not surprised. Let them go back to league 1 were they belong.
I haven't given up on this season but if we go back to league 1 still don't want Taylor or Forde. Purrington & Palmer also don't want. Ihiewke, Potter ect.. we can finially get shut of.
