I know I'm going to upset people but I really can't applaud or defend that. From the first whistle we were terrified of them & never layed a glove on them. It took 81 minutes for Vaulks to take a long throw. I am aware that City are probably the best team in Europe at the moment but if you won't tackle them at all & let them do what they want with the ball then we deserved everything we got. Young Ben Wiles was the only player to come out of that debacle with any credit. IMO Warne should come out & apologize for that display. Very very disappointed.
I predicted 7-0 but we made no attempt to attack we wasted the few set pieces we had. The keeper had a poor game only 9 shots on target and let in 7 ??? Warne is a nice bloke with lovely ethics but by his own admission he is not a brave bold man. Today we were going to lose but if we had gone for it and lost at least he would have used the game to try something new it is the manner of the defeat it is the lack of desire to experiment and the loss of a good opportunity that makes me angry. Now spend the £500k on a player and give us something back
Not bothered about the scoreline what get's me is same players who aren't good enough to start with at our level lower championship talking Forde Taylor Palmer get on. Were was Hinds? Change it Warney cause those players will take us down.
It works both ways. Send Vyner back. Need a right back good enough now.

A very bizarre experience. At times it was like we were taking part in a training ground exercise of attack against defence. For long periods the back line of the City defence was parked halfway into our half. Some kudos to PW for putting a positive post match spin on proceedings but in acknowledging how good City are we really have to accept how darn ordinary we were. The scoreline doesn’t accurately reflect the chasm between the teams and but for some amusing fluffs infront of goal City could easily have doubled the margin.
In reality this was a meaningless game which apart from financial gain we really could have done without. Not sure which will have done the bigger psychological disservice prior to the upcoming game in Suffolk: us losing 7-0 today or Ipswich being beaten 1-0 by Accrington Stanley.
Also, I promise not to get on my hobby horse again about playing in red and white but I have to ask when it was deemed our socks would clash with City’s who thought it would be rousing at the Etihad Stadium to play in sky blue socks?
No RV I completely agree with you regarding playing in Red & White when there's no colour clash, **** the sponsors & their 10k or whatever Mears are putting in, look at the teams that have come to NYS & wore their regular kit, QPR, Derby, Ipswich etc, the only saving grace today is they didn't wear that god awful "Refresher wrapper" kit.
The gulf between us and them is vast. They have a sprinkling of some of the best players in the world in any eleven they put out. Each of their top players earns (literally) forty times what our highest paid will be on. They are ruthless and relentless. They regularly put four, five or six past Premier League teams and last season put seven past PL Stoke. Two seasons ago they put five past Huddersfield during Huddersfield's promotion season. The scoreline is a bit embarrassing but not altogether surprising. The result (a defeat) was almost a foregone conclusion. I wouldn't read anything much into it. We haven't learned anything we didn't already know. It has no bearing on our league campaign other than it has put a bit of bonus cash in the kitty.
They paste Premier League teams by 5 and 6 so what did we really expect today? Fair play to Guardiola for respecting the competition and playing the side he did.
Ben Wiles our man of the match, gets better every game he plays.
Great day out at the Etihad. Nothing more or less than I expected but a chance to watch a world class side put on a masterclass. Invited into the Man City supporters club bar for drinks before the game by someone who I'd never seen before in my life - class. Made really welcome by everyone in there. Could have done without the Neanderthals who spent the entire match goading their opposite Neanderthal City fans rather than watching the game. There's nothing negative to come out of today - the manager and players will all realise that they came up against a fantastically skilled unit who would have put anyone to the sword. The positives are a good pay day for the club, knowledge that the next game will be one in which we might get a kick, Ben Wiles who continues to impress and a chance for us supporters to go to a great stadium to watch a great team.
Very sorry for the fans who went to today I hope it is wake up call and bring some quaĺity in for the rest of the season.
Build a team around Wiles get 3 players in to keep us up

I'm not sure its a wake up call at all. Man City are miles, miles better than us. I think we all knew that already. I think 99% of people who went today knew that what happened might well happen. Take the experience, take the payday and move on to the real business in hand.
Wasn't there. Won't watch the goals. When I saw side Man C put out thought I'd got more chance of winning the lotto than we had there. Wasn't telling us anything we don't know. Need a right back, midfielder & left winger. Could do with them in for the Ipswich game. Been same all the season. Vyner, Forde & Taylor not good enough. Williams can only play on the right wing. Don't give new contracts to either Forde or Taylor. One or both can go this window along with Palmer. Get a striker in to cover for Smith before the transfer window closes.
I didn't go on the principal that I pay for a season ticket already.
Seriously Warne has to be given the funds to.improve the squad either with perms or loans with confirmed option to sign at the end. Lets face it if is going to take serious cash to prise even a half decent player in Jan
Something Tony is very reluctant to do
Don't need or want to be a premiership fitness club
Anybody knows when you pay for a season ticket it's for 23 games. I don't expect nothing else. I buy it to support the club in the summer. To have the seat of my choice sat with people you don't mind sitting with. I go to every home involving the 1st team. Friendly's, cup games. Pay the extra, it's not a fortune always reduced prices.
Lets face it... we gave a good account of ourselves for the first 20 mins, then they upped a gear and the 2 quick goals before halftime really did knock the stuffing out of us.
Wiles will not be with us for much longer regardless of a new contract being signed, thats us looking after the product that we have produced, we will make some money on him. Sad i know but a reality of football now.
On a few occasions Wiles was playing balls which the rest of our team didn't know he was going to do.
He did not look out of place, he seemed to relish having the likes of De-Bruyne and Mahrez up against him, he revelled in the atmosphere and as a result was my standout player, and a star of the future.
As Warney said we were good for about 30 seconds then class took over give MC some credit they showed us some respect by putting a strong team out. Any team from around here would have taken a battering against that team.
The manager also said Wiles was our best player hope we can hold on to him get 3or4 decent Signings and have a good crack at staying up.
If our manager is not downhearted about the scoreline neither should we be we have bigger fish to fry on Saturday as the old saying in football goes win draw or loose on with the booze.
