Warne Has Made It

Paul Warne's status has definitely elevated as he is now the subject of a nice article in the Times based on his visual similarity to Pep G. The article suggests that he does not enjoy life as much as when he was fitness coach and that football management is not a long term venture for him. Of course, that could all change if we beat City on Sunday! https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/manchester-city-v-rotherham-next-up-for-pep-guardiola-its-paul-warne-his-spitting-image-q80f2xlnq

Talking of spitting images, I was nearly thrown out of the Millmoor Hotel just before a home game. The barmaid refused to serve me as I had already been 'barred' by the pub landlord, she said. The barmaid alerted the landlord who happened to be stood nearby. He took one look at me and informed the barmaid that it wasn't me who was barred. She didn't believe him. We had a Mexican standoff and stared at each other for a couple of minutes. Of course she didn't believe the landlord and I didn't stay to buy a drink. I can say that I feel sorry for the guy who apparently looked like me all the time. I was wearing a red curly wig and my face was painted in red and white stripes. It was the last home game against Brentford when we got promoted in the1990's. Alan Lee scored the winning goal.

Come on you Reds!
