According to the tizer on Warney's wanted list are a striker central midfielder wide player. Needs to add a right back to that list. He worries me sometimes Warney. He's saying Vyner has done really well the last few games. Don't think he'll get many agreeing with him. He also says he doesn't want any of his squad to leave. Players are only a number. Squad needs some out to get some in.

The comments on Vyner are understandable. What do you expect Warne to say? Dig out and damage a young player in public? At times Vyner has looked OK but there isn't any getting past the fact that at other times he has made costly mistakes. Warne (and Vyner) will know that as well as we all do. I imagine that Warne saw Billy Jones as first choice right back at the start of the season. His absence has been a huge disappointment. Towell and Manning have both been pretty ordinary in recent weeks. It feels like it might be the right time to give young Wiles a chance. He has looked good enough when he has come on and has a bit of athleticism about him.

Just going on what I read in the tizer & what Warney says on the OS. Says Vyner has been keeping Jones out of the side, so if Jones is fit expect him to come in. Jones can't be fit or not that good else he'd have been playing. Sooner play Vaulks at right back while we get one in. Problem Raggett is he fit? Out wide is our problem. Playing Forde to cover for Vyner would only work if Forde could get forward to take some pressure off Vyner but he's limited getting forward. Left wing Newell can't start in away games. Taylor isn't a left winger simple as. So I'm looking at preferred Rodak Vaulks Raggett Robertson Mattock Williams Wiles Ajayi Towell Manning Smudger. If Raggett isn't fit Jones at RB Ajayi at CB Vaulks in midfield.

I agree with PW's assessment. The priority has always been central midfield and a striker. The attacking options need sharpening. The defence is competent enough. I think its harder to score a goal than it is to defend. Given the team, as is and the options its got to be up front for me. I think that was true at the start of the season and it still is. If there is a genuine criticism it might be that PW knowingly went with what he had and didn't really push for additions. I say genuine because I dont recall much publicly said other than 'the boys who got us here deserve their chance'/

The article cited suggested a balancing of the books. Im somewhat intrigued. I read, in preparation for the next game, that Bristol city has 31 players on loan in league football. 31 ******* one! 31, and they are still only a few points above us after half the season. Makes me really wonder about all the calls for this and for that.

We have what we have including being an L1 team punching way above due to an incredible effort on and off the pitch. If PW does bring in 2-3 new players than that may be all I can ask of him this window.

In answer to the list of players to move on eventually (this season) I would keep Forde, but let Taylor go. Taylor is just a little too "expensive" from a defending point of view, and there will be plenty who want him in their team, but for me, he has no ability to play anywhere but very wide. Slightly off topic but that strange girl providence might scupper Bristol city and vyner's chances of football progression for awhile as his absence is the best chance for Jones to steal the shirt.

We are reported to be showing an interest in an Aston Villa forward. According to one source several other clubs are showing a similar interest. The player has been named in one of the tabloids.

Stop reading if you've heard that one before.

Steve Bruce is reported to be making a decision about the vacancy of Head Coach at Owls HQ at the back end of January. It is not clear at this stage what year that will be. In the meantime Bruce has been watching and waiting to see how things pan out down at Millers HQ regarding the post of Head Coach. It is believed that there is more potential and a great deal more to be achieved at the NYS.

Allegedly.

"The priority has always been central midfield and a striker. The attacking options need sharpening. The defence is competent enough."

I agree 100% with that... our current midfield rarely create anything... and when we do we have no striker to put it in the net... if we get a decent striker (from any league... ) and a midfeilder ... That's what I'd wish for..

A bit of luck would be my third wish.....

Need a left sided player. Ideally would be able to link up with Smudger. In this league we are always going to have play 3 in midfield. A striker to cover for Smith. A better creative midfielder than we have now. Dom Ball back, he can play RB CB holding midfield player.

whatever we want get them over the line quickly the next 3 league games will determine our season, as long as we do our business early and do not sit and wait then we have to trust the management team on their decisions on players.

Manning being recalled by QPR. Don't what we F about at. Get Dom Ball back. Derbymiller forget about Da Ball will be a good human being but like rest of loaned out players apart from Dom not up to this level.

Well seen as manning was one of our.top.scorers.and created most of the chances v wba I think he will be missed I'm expecting us to be relegated now as I doubt tony will give Warne the cash he needs.to get the players we truly need to push on We need a another striker as Smith despite his effort isn't hitting the target as we are to slow to capitalise on any knock down Warne has.made a few choice errors but this with hind sight Preston for me we have to be on the front foot from the off For me we have to be 4 at the back vaulk raggett Robertson mattock Then Williams ajayi wiles newell And play proctor and Smith up front

Raggett came on for last 23+ mins at Bristol, so unless he has had a reaction i think its safe to say he will be fit enough. The side tomorrow will depend on how much Warney wants to play Ajayi in the midfield. I am with you gwru and think he has to play Ajayi in the midfield holding role. Towell and Jones are out and Manning appears to be heading back to Q.P.R. so his options in the central midfield three look limited. His only other option is to keep Ajayi in the back four and Play Palmer with Wiles and Vaulks. My bet is he goes with Ajayi in the midfield.
That just leaves us with the left flank dilemma. Has Newell done enough to warrant selection? Not for me and i am a fan of his. So i would go with the same wide men as we had when we put in our best performance of the season against the Blades. Williams on the right and Taylor on the left. Get at them from the start instead of sitting back for an hour and play a high pressing game. I know Taylor is a right sided player but he has shown he could do it against Sheff Utd so lets tell him to give it everything for an hour and put Newell on when he tires. I still fancy a score draw.

I'm going back to my original thoughts. Taylor he's the one wide man we have who looks confident when he gets in goalscoring positions. He can only play on the right. Newell is ok to start in home games, gives us that balance. Rodak; Vyner Raggett Robertson Mattock; Taylor Wiles Ajayi Vaulks Newell; Smudger
