I think we will nab this one. Once again the timing is slightly in our favour.
However, against Reading we stuttered and should have been sent for detention.
I think the Bolton game is a game we can win from several points of view. After such a trouncing vs WBA, this game will show that the system PW plays is just about good enough and that elusive away result may at last come sparkling through the drizzle and alighting softly and merrily on our happy faces.
It's that or the cold stark miserable trip back home and visions of the good ship floundering early in 2019. We can believe
If all fit I'm going same side that started Saturday apart from Williams for Forde. Bolton away a game we can win. Not saying will win. Warney looked happy enough with his xmas hat on the OS giving the team news for this game. Hope the players are in the same frame of mind to give their best today.
Rotherham's greatest chance of survival rests with the form of the teams around us. None of them seem to be able to find any positive consistency. In fact, in their last 35 games, only 3 of the bottom 7 sides have managed a single victory. We have the chance, over the next couple of games, to chalk up at least one 3 pointer which would help our survival chances no end. If Raggett is fit today, I wonder if PW will play him and move Semi in front of the back 4? Strange that he was on the bench recently but not for the WBA game - I wonder if he's had a set-back? Agree Williams in for Forde and let's get at 'em!
I agree Williams for Forde. I think we will win one and draw one of the next two games then beat Preston at home. Seven points from three games. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Hate to be a Scrooge as I said in an earlier post we have been sussed we play ok but not enough quality needs to be addressed in January any chance in getting Potter fit might just be the holding midfield player we need get Marquis from Donny might be a few goals in him also looks to be our type of player hope we can gain a victory today.
All belief I had of us avoiding the drop has evaporated in this defeat against a team that even their own fans say are beyond awful. Don't hold out any hope of us signing anyone half decent in January as Tony either can't or wont spend any money. It's more fun in L1 anyhow.
You lot live in cuckoo land perhaps we may see the wood for the trees now. We will not win more than 1 game away all season. The team have no confidence or belief in themselves away from home. At home now they have been embarrassed in the last two home games so the heads will start to drop now. The manager lets them go on a **** up to dublin one week before a crucial game and gives them too much leeway. He is a hippie tree hugger we will have hari krishna on the touchline next home game. Warne needs to learn he is the manager not their friend. The lack of investment doesnt help him so we will drop into the bottom 3 before we play City and we will end up there, we cannot compete at this level and the fight is starting to dwindle in our troops.
Bit harsh on Warne but I agree the rave up in Dublin was ill advised. We are a top 10 L1 team at best & we may as well get back there as it's where we belong. The last two promotions have been utter wastes of time as to grow the club you need to invest & our esteemed Chairman clearly can't do this. Any Millers supporter who says he/she enjoys the Championship must be masochistic as losing every week ain't my idea of fun.
Warney shouldn't worry if Proctor doesn't like it or some fans are calling for it. We can't play 4-4-2. Another thing it's always the same bring Taylor on whose not good enough. Still out of the bottom 3 just, for how long? Need some better quality in Jan' ASAP
Two poor championship teams on view. They were marginally less poor than us on the day. Whether you play 442, 433, 451 or whatever other system, you won't win games if your defenders give soft goals away and we still don't create enough in open play. The effort is always there but sadly the quality isn't. Blaming the manager and/or players won't help the situation. If we had the scope to invest more and have chosen not to do it then questioning the board is legitimate. I don't know whether that is the situation or not. Remarkably we are still not in the bottom three but at present it isn't looking very good. All in all, I'm a bit dispirited but not yet in a state of despair. We are still in with a shout. I don't think for one second we are going to spend our way out of trouble (we would need tens of millions to make a real difference) so we have to keep behind them and keep at it.
It's not like anyone really y thought we would be mid table. The form has been holding for a long time and just deserts have been had. Now it's the dip most foretold, but hoped it wouldn't come. However, we coundnt continue as we were. Our form will dip and others know what to expect.
It's up to Warne to lead the change needed.
For my money Warne has to keep faith with 2 strikers. One way or another he needs to find goals.

Watching a match on sky a player was saying you can play any system you want but if you haven't got the players of the right quality to play it won't work. Have got some sympathy for Paul Warne only hope to stay up is to bring some quality in. Just hoping these last two results bring it home to the board of the need to do it. I know some of you are very disappointed i'm just the same but as they say win draw or loose on with the booze.
We are letting in an average of two goals a game in recent weeks. That is the difference between us winning the odd game or at least getting regular draws to now losing more often than not. Three of our wins have been by a goal to nil. We haven't got the quality to outscore championship teams in open matches. We need to go back to what was working, tighten up at the back and score enough to nick points here and there. Robertson has been a plus. Mattock has been OK. Ajayi has reverted to being prone to the odd blunder and needs to cut them out. I'm afraid - without wanting to single any player out particularly a young player - that Vyner is a weak link that teams are getting at, and it is costing us goals and points. Jones not being fit has hurt us badly and Vyner looks to me like an inexperienced centre back trying to fill in out of position. Not necessarily his fault. A decent, proven but not ancient right back should be top of the list as soon as the window opens.
All valid points but the fact remains that the wage structure will Not be broken, no transfer fees will be paid that is higher than 300k, Warne is doing a good job with an average L1 squad but he cannot work miracles. I've been a Millers fan for 45 years & in that time including Three promotions to the 2nd tier, not once has the clubs hierarchy shown any real ambition despite TS's Premier League BS talk & it's about time fans realize these facts.
