It doesn't go away does it. I remember many years ago stating that verbal racial abuse was commonplace on our terraces. I was absolutely dumped on. Never they said! Old days ...I must be mistaken. I realised then that there is really a deep belief system and you won't be thanked for challenging it.

Crazy and incoherent.  I hope those identified are banned for a considerable time. No one wants to see PC taking over the world, but direct racism is horrid.

At least have the intelligence and courtesy of not subjecting others to your beliefs or lack of thoughtfulness. You are a laughing stock.

Since NYS opened I always sat in NS7 near the left hand side corner flag in the North Stand until this season where the new season ticket holders included The most racist mysoganistic ****phobic lout I have ever encountered with his poor unfortunate son. I had to move area which was easy as I'm not a St holder. I'm ashamed to say I haven't reported him to stewards or the club but neither has anyone else to the best of my knowledge.

Its always been there. I remember confronting a moron who turned up every week to racially abuse Des Hazel. In those days the stewards told me to ignore it or leave, and threatened to throw me out otherwise. At least now the club makes a show of wanting to clamp down on it. On Saturday a bloke in his sixties (I would guess) with what looked like his grandchildren yelled 'you black c***' at Bacuna of Reading. My first thought was - what chance have those poor kids got? I am pretty sure someone nearby reported him to a steward. My own view is that there are and always have been a fair percentage of people who are racist to some degree or other. They have largely sat on their hands with it in recent years but their core views haven't changed. Sadly they have become emboldened by (without getting political) recent events at home and abroad which in their dim brains makes them feel that it is legitimate for them to air their disgraceful prejudices. It makes me feel sick to the stomach.

Let's hope the club isn't just paying lip service to this problem & lifetime bans are the the only answer.

Perhaps we need to be more proactive. Instead of just banning people who engage in racist abuse (which I agree must happen), can we do a bit more to persuade people to think differently instead of just forcing them to keep their racism under wraps? I applaud the intent behind Kick It Out etc but it has become a bit tired as a message. Its just 'the annual kick it out game'. I think I would like to hear our own players present and past (black and white) speak more to explain what racism looks like and feels like from their perspective. That personalisation might hit home more than a faceless campaign. That approach requires individuals to stand up and be counted and it is a lot to ask of them, and it isn't up to football to cure the problems of society generally, but it might help. And yes, ban the ****ers as well.

It's hard to educate people directly. They have to be identified and then punished and then willing to go on awareness courses. Funnily one can find domestic violence courses and some of them are funded. Of course a lot of Women are mad as hell when that happens ( although it's somewhat different than racism as women abuse men too). Perhaps more signage around and announcements by the presenter at every game, with instructions on what a fan should do, and let's here the phone number read out?

Thanks TC. It was inspired wasn't it.

Why not copy and paste the whole lot I thought to mi sen. Its got the tag line in. Looks like it's hot off the press. A certain appeal and weight and bucking convention. Dam! I should right tag lines for a living. I'd clean up better than OCD.

I knew someone would appreciate the creativity.

Great artists don't reveal their sources. They just use material others have worked on.  Title says it all. Earnest, damming, and contextual.
