Delia was telling her husband about jobs that wanted doing round the house. All he kept saying was have I got electrician, carpenter ect… tattooed on my forehead. He cleared off to the pub. 2 hours later feeling abit guilty he went home. Delia was waiting for him. She said all the jobs were done. A young man was walking past the house, she asked him to help her. In return she told him he could have his way with her or she'd bake him something. Husband said what did you bake him? Delia said helloo! have I got Delia Smith tattooed on my forehead!!!
Last time I went to Carrow Road to watch the Millers I sat with a group of Norwich fans. When Rotherham opened the scoring, I leapt to my feet to celebrate and a Norwich fan from a few rows away shouted 'Sit down you dirty Northern B**tard'. I wouldn't have minded but I'd travelled up from Hampshire, where I lived, to watch the game!!
Let's hope a few more geographical insults on Saturday!
What I think goes back some time now. One could see Warne was doing a job and how the team were responding. He is getting almost 7/8s from them each game. It was only a matter of time before real results followed those performances. He has now created a nice template and so long as he doesnt get tempted to break it, he should be able to steadily improve and maintain the standards.
Any of the Top 6 away is beyond us I think. Norwich perhaps arent as good as previous seasons given their current form but all the reports I have read have suggested typical Norwich; creating more chances and dominating the football. So, Im ignoring my feelings and sticking with Facts and figures. Home win for Norwich. Blissful would be a turn in the tide past the moon.
I believe this team has it in them to run it close and make a game of it but the numbers suggest a banker home win. The team has real spirit and ability at present but Norwich have a lot (as always) going forward.

Dexter Blackstock managed one goal for.us, and it was at Carrow Road in a 3-1 defeat with Alan Stubbs looking on blankly from the bench as Greg Halford floundered at right back. I am privileged to be able to say that I was there to witness the historic moment that Blackstock found the net from a yard out. I remember the feeling of inevitability of the defeat even before the match kicked off and telling my daughter on the long drive over 'you know we are going to get hammered, don't you?'. A measure of the job Warne has done is that even though Norwich are top, and they massively out-resource us, and as Ian says on paper it is a home banker, you know that if we do get beaten it isn't likely to be a meek surrender and we just might come away with something. We are going there with a sense of hope and pride that was completely missing last team round.

Got to go in with our battling players to have any chance of getting anything there. Newell & Palmer can't start. Taylor I'm not saying he's not up for it but 3 games in 8 days will have took there toll on him. Ajayi has got to revert back to Centre back. I'll look at the team selection for the game to see if we have any chance. Like to see Wiles start. He's got to start somewhere, why not in what will be one of the toughest away games.
I know where your coming from gwru and I would agree to a point. We need to get something from this and every game till the end of season or at least until we know we're safe. I'd rather blood him in cup games, to show how he'd cope against experienced big lads and earn his spurs that way. Putting him in against the top team may work, on the other hand he may have a stinker which could effect his confidence and maybe set him back in his development. At the end of the day its up to his gaffer and coaching staff who will make the call.
I've now seen the QPR game and I thought Palmer did very well but faded into the second half, which is understandable given his recent lack of first team action. Don't forget that Manning will be also be available again and should be fresh. I tend to agree with Towdlad about being careful where and how to introduce Wiles. It depends very much on the nature of the individual and I'm sure that Warne and his staff will do the right things with him. Being thrown in at the deep end isn't right for everybody. We have got options.
Would definitely go with Wiles if there was a choice between him & Palmer tomorrow. The latter can't see anything to his game. Can't tackle. Nothing going forward.
Given we will be defensively set up , or at least forced into defence then Wood needs to start for me. With backs against the wall he is our best defender and despite only have the odd difficulty he still does not carry the confidence of most fans.
We cant help to repeat that Newall seems to have fallen on his sword and his departure is perhaps past the "best before" date by a margin-10 good game a season is perhaps not the kind of footballer we need.
Palmer I dont think is going to make it. He has quite a time to impose himself and he hasnt. He had plenty of time with Burton too and he is one where I think Warnes wonders have not found a suitable ground to flourish in.
Smiler is right. At least we have a proper team developing and one full of identity and commitment. I would also like to point out that there are some good footballers in the side too. I think that's overlooked due to the comparison between the stars of our great seasons . However, when I reflect I am tempted to say the current team is working better than any that Steve Evans managed.
Forde in the starting eleven ahead of Palmer, Manning, Wiles and Taylor (injured?). I posted that we had options but I didn't think Forde was one of them. Let's hope it turns out to be an inspired selection.
Somewhere over the rainbow today. Delia made a rainbow cake for today told on final score.
Didn't expect anything today. Team selection today? Forde Newell Williams more than likely playing in midfield never works. Need to get it right at Hillsborough next Saturday. Williams Wiles Vaulks Towell Manning; Smith way to go.
TBH listening from home Robertson coming off injured when we were winning obviously disrupted the team but as has been said very few people expected anything there. Two MASSIVE winnable games @ the sty & home to Reading coming up.
We gave Norwich a scare but ran into a juggernaut in the second half. The enforced loss of Newell and more significantly Robertson at half time definitely didn't help. A respectable effort from us but beaten by a better side - I think its as simple as that. Move on to next week. Another bad defeat for the Owls today. It would be very sweet to make that our first away win of the season.
We definitely didn't get anything at Norwich not even a few crumbs the problem is we lack a bit of quality it's not a fair playing field in this league I hope we can do a bit of business in January. Off to the piggery next week I am going to be boring again but we are long overdue an away win.
