We need to keep the momentum & intensity both on & off the pitch. Saturday was one of the best atmospheres I've experienced at NYS, the place was rocking. I'd put Wiles in Manning's spot for this game but Warnie will probably go with Palmer. We need to take something (preferably a win) from this game what with Norwich away on Saturday. #utm
Dead right on all counts Brad. Saturdays atmosphere was tremendous but it needs to be like that every week. Not all away teams come with as many as Sheff Utd or Derby but we need our three sides full and noisy every home game. The team we've got representing us on and off the pitch deserve it. I think Warne just might go with Wiles in for Manning and Palmer on for Wiles after an hour or so. A win tomorrow would be a huge psychological boost and give us some freedom to go to Norwich with nothing really to lose. Having said all of that about the crowd sadly I can't make it myself for unavoidable reasons. Hope I miss a belting home win.
Just heard Warney on the OS sure we are going to keep with 4-5-1. Wiles for Manning got to be. Newell for Taylor on the left. If you have a natural left sided player good enough play him for the majority of the game. Taylor to come on when it needs changing.
Hope Rotherham public back us tomorrow by being there. Does lift the players. This is the best Roth U side at least since we came to the New York stadium. Would say last side better was when we got into the championship with Ronnie Moore. Sedgewick Mookhouse Alan Lee ect...
Manning was not great on Saturday but he does give us a balanced look to midfield. The problem with going with Wiles or Palmer would mean five naturally right footed midfield players. Taylor was very good on the left Saturday but i am not sure he could do it regularly because he likes to cross with his right foot (did get a couple of good left footed ones in on Saturday). and as gwru said he needs to be 100% to be at his best.
The dilemma for Warney is can Newell perform from the start and not just as an impact player. He put Newell on when Manning went off so i think he sees him as the obvious choice as i do. I just cannot have Palmer in Mannings place as i still believe he is lightweight.
If we play Ben wiles which i would love to see. I would play him in the number 10 role or push Towell further forward and play Wiles at the side of Vaulks. A very tricky decision for P.W because i do believe we will have a very difficult job tomorrow. This is a side who have won four, drawn one and lost one in the last six. Scoring eleven and letting only five in. Lets get up for it and as said by all get behind a side who deserves as many of us to be there as possible.
What I don't want in the starting 11 is Taylor& Newell out wide. Williams in midfield. Williams is at his best on the right also Vyner plays better with him being there. I've got doubts if Taylor can play to the same level in two games in such a short time. In away games got doubts about both Taylor & Newell. If Wiles comes through tomorrow night would like to see Manning on the left in away games.
Got to get Proctor in the team we had 26 shots on target on Saturday he looks like the only player we have who knows where the net is it's got to happen where we give a team a good pasting hopefully against QPR tomorrow night. Been to the ground today what's those posts that are being covered with plywood around Guest & Grimes about does anybody know anything.
I had the impression Warne will make changes due to having a few options and the current team spirit.
Tactically he will go with the 451 I think.
Newall just hasnt performed and worse still he now looks like a player on the fringes of the group. Makes me wonder. So, I'm not playing him tonight.
Warne will think it's about building on the already great job. Complacency is curiously a concern now.
Always doubts about 2 games in a row but it should be to our advantage tonight.
A win tonight would be good indeed. Its going to be a long season though and I'm not expecting anything except a battle until the end.

Better get my skates on as M1 is sure to be slow
Bitterly disappointed in only getting a point given the late late equaliser but a draw was probably fair given Rodaks wonder save & the fact that Rangers really should have had a penalty. Poor game management near the end cost us but it shows how far this team has come when fans are disappointed in only getting a draw with QPR. Note to Warnie however how the hell is Vyner keeping Jones out of the team as defensively he's poor? Also Palmer is too lightweight for a Championship team.
Agree about Vyner & Palmer. Jones must injured though slightly better defensively at this level as a permanent signing needed better. Rodak our MOTM no doubt. Warney played it safe not starting with Wiles. Would it have made any difference? I personally would have liked the opportunity to see. A home league game would be a good start for Wiles.
Another great performance from the Millers against a very well organised and threatening opposition. Unfortunately we ran out of gas with about 25 minutes to go and we were lucky not to concede more than 2 goals - Rodak was sensational! Disagree strongly about Palmer and Vyner both of who had good games with only the odd blemish. Once again, Warne changed it around when he saw QPR getting on top, bringing Ajayi into midfield. He really is becoming a master tactician. Ajayi, Vaulks and Proctor all had chances to wrap it up for us but, on balance, a draw was a fair result. Pity really, because at half time we were up to 16th and above Wednesday! Still, another night of great entertainment down at NYS!
A decent effort from the lads and over 90 minutes a fair result. Easily the better team in the first half but ran out of steam in the last 30 minutes where Rodak made a couple of great saves to keep us in front.
Taylor, Williams and Smith had nowhere near the impact they had on Saturday and all three looked to be feeling the effects of Saturdays efforts. To give Williams the m.o.m beggars belief. he gave away the first goal and did very little. Smith came up against Leistner and got very little change out of him. Taylor had a good run for the first goal and that was it.
Where we lost our way was in the middle of the park where Palmer who was neat and tidy in the first half was getting brushed aside in the second and it put extra pressure on Vaulks who i thought had a great game. P.W saw this and decided to put Ajayi in the middle to stop their flow. It worked a little but Q.P.R were having a lot of the ball and the equaliser was coming . Just glad it didnt happen in the 80th minute because i think they would have won. Vyner had a poor twenty minutes in the second half where his passing was poor. Still think we have to keep with him because who knows how good sick note Jones is. Yet again Newell came on but could not influence the game. I am a big fan but even my patience is wearing a bit thin. A well earned point and a fair result.
It's a decent performance on the back of Saturday. Disappointingly we didn't see the game out and manage the last quarter as well as we have done.
I wouldn't have made the subs. I seem to remember a few times when Paul has changed the back and its gone wrong late on.
Difference of opinion on vyner. He has been a weak link all season. He is one where we should be strengthening.
I think it's time for new all to consider his future. Would it surprise anyone if he went to the Posh.
Tough league. We are getting close to very consistent performances. Great team spirit. It has to keep going all season especially now...
I'm no longer expecting defeat at Norwich. I expect a performance and a point is now a realistic target
I get accused on here of having rose tinted glasses but Glen Miller Vyner & Palmer not good enough simple as. Problem we have when we shuffle the pack & bring Wood on it makes us vulnerable to the oppositions quicker players.
I'm writing the Norwich match off. Focus on the Sheff W game. Hoping then Raggett is fit. Move Vaulks to Right back while January. Manning to play on the left. Taylor is ok if you rest him & give him a game when he his firing on all cylinders preferably at home.
January Forde & Palmer can go. Send Vyner back. Right back, left sided player priorities. Goalscorer possibly. Now good enough, not was.
Palmer has lost his way. Too many errors at home to QPR. Moving Ajayi into midfield was a good call. Away game Saturday week will just be another day at the office. First up, we need to focus our attention on Norwich. Taking the foot off the gas pedal may prove to be our undoing.
Last night our problems in midfield started when Newell replaced Taylor which seemed to suck all the energy out of them. I'm afraid Joe has exceeded his level and needs to return to League One where he is a star. Palmer being subbed 10 minutes after allowed Warne to move Ajayi in front of the back four but we lost the composure that Palmer brings to the midfield and we started to get over-run. No rose-coloured glasses - Palmer has ability and Vyner has potential - unfortunately the latter is not ours so replacing him with Jones (if fit) wouldn't break my heart!
Don't rate Palmer at all. Why didn't Warney put Wiles on. Come on Ajayi is not a midfield player. He had two chances again in the 2nd half wish they had fallen to Vaulks. Wood is too slow now for this league. In my opnion we haven't got a Right back good enough for this level. Jones never wanted him like Potter. Past their sell by date before they joined us. Newell or Taylor aren't good enough to start on the left. Hear on MM saying Rodak should have done better for QPR 2nd goal. In an ideal world yes but the two saves before cancelled out if you can call it an error from him.
At Norwich what we got to lose I'd go Rodak; Vaulks Ajayi Robertson Mattock; Williams Wiles Towell Manning; Smith Proctor
I agree with a lot of what you are saying gwru. However, putting Vaulks at right back is taking the beating heart out of the side. Playing that four in midfield would be handing them a free reign to overrun us. We have to stick with Vyner, yes hes learning on the job and his passing is sometimes wayward but he is athletic and has potential as Glenmiller said. Keep the back four as it was which started last night. get Manning back in and play 4.5.1. we did that against Middlesbrough and got a point. That in my opinion is our best chance of getting something. I am with you on Palmer. Neat and tidy but lightweight and is not the type of player to fit our style. i am afraid it looks like Newell is the same.
Going with you whiston01. Keep with Vyner while Raggett comes back then could move Vaulks to Right back if Vyner is still struggling there. Same keeper defence at Norwich then Williams Wiles Vaulks Towell Manning; Smudger
