Listening to radio deedar a Rotherham fan came on and mentioned a Burton Albion irish forward he wasn't sure of his name I checked there website and that's the player I found he might be worth a punt in new year were a bit short in the striker department. Have seen him play on sky a couple of times and he looked descent.

Ajay and Smith were signed for nothing does it mean there's no sell on fee because they have broken there contracts does anybody know. Smith's stock must be rising now he is scoring a few goals.

I  remember Liam Boyce from around 4yrs ago when he played in Ireland. Quite a few English clubs looked at him with a view to signing him. He ended in Scotland with Ross County. He beat two Celtic players to the golden boot award by scoring 23 goals.

Burton Albion signed him in the summer of 2017 for a club record fee reported to be around £500k. Unfortunately that first season somewhere near August time he suffered a bad injury. He ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and missed most of that season. Burton Albion have already turned offers down for LB and have put a valuation on him of £1M plus. From what I saw of him on TV when playing in Ireland he looked a decent player. Twenty-eight next April he's hardly past it despite that horrific injury he sustained.

Michael Smith and Semi Ajayi didn't break their contracts.

S.A. signed a three year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Smudger signed an 18 month contract also on an undisclosed fee. As we all know Smudger is now contracted to 2020.

Shouldn't touch any player who has had cruciate ligament surgery which used to be a career finisher. They all lose a yard of pace. Examples that spring to mind are Dicko,Blackstock(!!) and, unfortunately,Proctor.

JCH had a similar type of injury, never looked the same player after that. Boyce not for me. Apart from his injury he's 28 next birthday. No value to club like us if you are paying up to a £Million.

Your first sentence says it all " used to be a career finisher ". Recovery these days from an ACL is excellent. 85% of players injured come back to form they had beforehand. Alan Shearer had his and the following season he went on to score 31 goals in the Premier League, the list of players that have come back from an ACL injury is endless so I wouldn't go as far as saying " shouldn't  touch any player ". Not comparing Shearer, Totti, Van Nistlroy and others with Boyce that would be ludicrous.

The ACL won't  affect Liam Boyces pace because he never had any pace. His attributes are holding the ball up,, being in and around the box and scoring goals. The proof will be if LB scores plenty of goals and fires Burton back to promotion.

Would I sign him ? - No, Burton's valuation of him is much higher than mine, although you don't get much for a Million pounds these days.

JCH never reached the potential that Steve Evans saw in him. That was before JCH had his injury. Some players work and some don't,  ....JCH comes into the latter category. He was bought to sell on for a profit unfortunately it didn't work out that way.

Rated JCH before his injury. He had an attitude. I don't mind that in a player. Everybody's different some players just get on with it, some players show & believe they are more than up to playing at the level they are playing in.
