Is this Saturdays a must win game with us playing Middlesbrough next three points are a must. We need to start getting goals from our front strikers. Who would have thought England would have won in Spain our barren away record must come to an end soon.
i agree this is match that warne has to look at changing the formation to an attacking one and play 2 up front either proctor or vassell on bench to come on as a 3 if needed
No need to change the formation. If all are fit play Williams and Vassell wide of Smith, Towell in behind and we have plenty of attacking threat. If all are fit: Rodak; Jones, Ajayi, Wood, Mattock,: Vaulks; Williams, Towell, Manning, Vassell; Smith. We've been fairly solid at home and made chances - just need to start converting more of them.
I agree with smiler. 4-5-1 with Vassell getting up to support Smith. Hope Warney has learnt from the season so far. Don't start with Taylor or Palmer. Newell & Wiles from now on to be involved before them. Wouldn't bother me if Robertson starts in place of Wood. I've always wanted to see him with Ajayi Centre backs.

All players fit apparently bar Raggett so what does Warney do?
Bolton will be in that mini league of bottom eight in my opinion so a must not lose game and preferably a win. In their last three games they have played 4:2;3;1,However, away to Ipswich they played 4:1:4:1. and drew 0-0. So i expect them to have five in midfield,be physical and keep it tight. Their main provider will be the tiny Oztumer.
I think we will play 4:5:1 with Rodak, Jones, Ajayi, Woods, Mattock. Williams, Vaulks, Towell, Manning, Vassell, Smith. He does have other options 4:4;2, same players but with Vassell up top instead of wide left. I am not sure we would have enough in the middle four especially as i see Manning better in a left central role, rather than out wide... His other option is to play 4:1:4:1 with Ajayi playing holding mid field, Vassell or Manning left out and Robertson or Vyner at centre back. I will stick with the first option and if we need to push for a goal or winner have impact players like Newell and Proctor to come off the bench. With Price and Wiles certainties to be on the bench who will he leave off the subs bench ? My guess it will be Palmer or Forde. Jon Taylor has just bought a house in Liverpool and now travels from there. Could it be a sign he is moving on or just that he is happier living there ?

Jon Taylor moving seems a bit daft if he isnt going to another club, with winter coming, across the pennines to train/play is a B@sterd in Winter
Back to tactics, i want PW to be brave and play 442 at home and give Wiles a chance, and to have a word with Towell about his new shoot on sight policy - which on recent matches he has played was not the best option, i would rather as a player have assists and be the playmaker that we know he is, than have a list of over the bar chances.

Forde simply hasnt been able to impress enough has he. He is a good squad player but just doesnt seem to have that spark to out himself in the first team.
Tayler suffers the fate of most out and out wingers. A rare and old breed that had its day long ago and has not ever come back in fashion.
Taylor isn't a winger, obvious. He's never gone past the oppositions full back on the outside. But can finish. Problem is we can't play him were he would be more effective. Some other side might be able to.
Almost every other club insists on players living within one hours drive from the training ground. How many players are commuting long distances ? Taylor,Smith,Proctor,Newell ? We are too soft.
If it is true that Taylor lives on Merseyside then I find that totally baffling. Living within a reasonable distance of the training ground should be a must. Neither Taylor nor Forde have ever really done it for me. Williams has proved to be the wide player who can do it at this level. Newell has the potential to but needs to do it more consistently.
I really hope not Splinter. In any case they wouldn't need more than a two-seater car with Taylor in the glove compartment - despite the fact that the o/s has him listed as 5ft10in !! Seriously, they can't all be doing a four hour round trip for training, can they?
