Well done lads

Had a bit of luck tonight but deserved it seeing as we had a depleted team. Vaulks did an outstanding job at the back but again Semi was colossal. What does he have to do to get a MOM from the prawn sandwich brigade?

great performance they give everything. i think warne needs to gamble a bit more in the last 15 and smith needed to come off and the lad on to give some pace and a different option

We made BC look very ordinary last night! Brilliant RUFC performances all over the pitch. Best game I have seen Mattock play and Williams and Ajayi were superb. Palmer had a good first half but tired early in the second. I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Vaulks' best position is CB. Only down side, why oh why does the Referee feel he needs to be centre stage. The first free kick he awarded took about 4 minutes to take because of his 'look at me' antics - pathetic!

Finally, if Vassell had been fit, I think we would have won. We just lacked someone to finish off a host of good chances that we created. However, with a make-shift squad, it was a brilliant performance and another good point.

No argument with that Glenn. Totally outplayed Bristol in the first half and not much in it in second half. The midfield in the first half were superb, up supporting the attack and winning and holding the ball when needed. Palmer and Newell appeared to tire and this helped B.C. Ajayi and Vaulks played a higher line which helped the midfield support Smith more.
Very difficult to criticise anybody after a performance like that with a patched up side. We had over twenty shots at goal but heres the criticism. Can you remember their goalie making a good save ? Our shooting was not good and if we are to stay up we need somebody who can finish. Williams and Smith are playing well but their shooting is woeful. All in all a good performance but it felt like two points lost at the end. However, before the game i would have took another home point.

Just one good save from their keeper that I recall - when Mattock headed a goal-bound attempt in the first half and the keeper got down sharply to his bottom right to tip it round the post for a corner. Manning also had a great opportunity when he made space for himself in the area but unfortunately it was on his right foot and resulted in a tame effort.

It shows the progress we are making and how well this relatively underfunded manager and his group of players are doing when I feel slightly disappointed after draws against Stoke and Bristol City with injury hit sides. It will still be a real battle to stay up but the players and staff deserve enormous credit for the fist they are making of it.

do not shoot me it is a observation. at the moment we are performing at a level that will see us go down 11 points 11 games is 42 points. that is a great achievement with the lack of investment the players and manger deserve a lot of credit. our issue is goals and chance conversation rate. we have scored one goal from open play all season and that goal was our only away goal. We had 20 shots yesterday and made the keeper work once the others on target were routine saves. Smith cannot get his chances on target and I am sorry 750k on moore would have seen those numbers improved in my view. he isnt the finished striker at this level but he is a better finisher than smith and he has more pace, he would have had a brace last night. We are very close to being good enough to stay up and the money we would get next year increases a lot, there is no business sense in not investing some of the money unless financially we are in a lot of trouble and we are not being told. well done to warne and the players for doing the best they can

Not attempting to shoot you down Derby, but a point a game would give us 46 pts (not 42) and that many points has been enough to stay up in four out of the last five seasons. That being said it is true that we have to try and take chances when they come along and it is hard to see where we are going to get lots of goals from in open play. Whether Moore would have been the answer I am not sure. The bottom line seems to be that we can't afford a £1m plus player or the wages that they command, so we have to grind out results with what we have. Perhaps we might push the boat out in January of we are well in the hunt to stay up? What encourages me is that I think we are seeing improvement game on game and growing in confidence, and not leaking goals as easily as last time we were in this league, so we are giving ourselves a chance to pick points up.

Both Stoke & the Bristol City games could have gone either way so happy with the 2 pts. All defence against Bristol City couldn't fault them. Williams Newell a threat. Hopefully a few bodies back tomorrow, will need a more solid look tomorrow. I'd play Vyner at Right back, he hasn't got the experience at Centre back. Move Jones to Centre back. Vaulks back in midfield, hopefully Towell is back. Give Smith a rest if Vassell is fit. Side tomorrow Rodak; Vyner Ajayi Jones Mattock; Williams Towell Vaulks Manning Newell; Vaassell. Was impressed with Wiles the other night when he came on. Time to push him in front of Palmer Taylor Forde in the pecking order. Hinds another I'm confident of coming through.

gwru palmer was excellent against Bristol until he tired a bit, remember he won us the point with his clearance off the line as well covering for the defence.

Applaud him for the clearance off the line but he didn't take his chance to impress. Wiles bring him along gradually, bring him on at the right time. Like look of him.

Thought Palmer and Newell both did well before tiring. I am not a Taylor fan but also thought he had a decent game as well. I wouldnt change any of the back four from Wednesday night either. My side would be
Rodak
Jones Ajayi Vaulks Mattock.

Williams Towell (if Fit) Palmer Manning Newell

Smith
A bit harsh on Taylor but i would always play Towell if fit. We also saw Williams play as a number ten (in the hole) . This is something i would do regularly at home. Wiles has a long way to go but i would look to give him some game time like Warney did on Wednesday. Vassell as sub and to go on when Smith has given is all. If we have to chase the game late on (likely) we could bring on Taylor wide right and push Williams into his man in the hole position and take off either Newell or Manning if everybody else was fit. Hinds is struggling to play ninety minutes for Frickley so hes hardly ready to play championship football.

I'd pick that same starting eleven Whiston.
