wednesday problems for warne

quote from warne in regards the injury to wood and no cover

I have got no centre-halves and Zak can't play Wednesday so that is a bit of a problem,” Warne added. “I haven't got anyone coming back prior to the game.”

With the benefit of hindsight yet knowing this could happen sending do ball and ithiewe out on loan along with da ball is going to cause us serious issues if smith and ajayi get injured. he obviously does not think onarise is capable for whatever reason

so tony back to you and you yet again ill thought out  martin luther king 'I have a dream quote'

so the team will either be

rodak

jones ajayi wood mattock

vaulks

williams towell manning newell

smith

or if smith and wood injured

rodak jones ajayi vaulks mattock

williams towell manning newell

laithwaite vasell(risky)

I think players went out on loan to reduce the wage bill, injuries have caught out the club. I do not believe there are no out of work players in the world that could improve our squad, they may not be fully fit but that is why they should have been in weeks ago. We have a full time recruitment team whose job it is to find players, so what are they doing. Warne would have to manage them into his squad thinking but that is his job and if put on short-term or pay as you play contracts the risk is low. This is poor planning on behalf of the club and means there is a good chance we will waste a home game as a possible collection of points. Spending one million of the 9 million we have taken on the squad is not asking a lot, we have spent nothing. Warne is doing his best with a very small league 1 squad with a few extras (his words not mine). The board are failing the fans, players and manager at the moment, never mind what they have done in the past we need to deal with the present and future

I have to disagree Derbymiller. If we were to spend money, i would have wanted it to be spent on a better quality first teamer not a sixth centre half being retained to potentially play once. I do think Ihiekwe is better than Vyner but going out on loan will aid his development (and the finances) more than 1 game against Bristol. If you'd taken a poll of supporters at the start of the season how many centre halves we need, i doubt many would have suggested six. I think we're very unlucky to have Robertson, Ragget and Wood all injured for one of the two games Vyner is ineligible for. If that means Vaulks has to fill in for one game then so be it.

Is the 9 million reward money from promotion and the play off finals

Sorry DKNY my post wasn't clear. I wanted us to spend £1m on the squad earlier, we haven't and now I feel we have to compromise and get a few free agents to fill the gaps, or expect a run of bad results through no fault of the manager or players.

That is my understanding yes, it is between £7m and £8m for being in the championship, some TV money for extra matches and the playoff money. Whether it is £7m or £9m my point still stands

Vaulks moves to CB if Wood isn't risked. Still think Vaulks will make a better defender than midfielder anyway.

Pretty bad luck having Raggett, Robertson and now Wood all out at the same time.
