After news that Birmingham might lose points for breaking FFP sanctions, the current Bolton chairman has said that BWFC face the prospect of administration if the finance group they owe £4m to call the debt in this week. It might all turn out to be a game of bluff and counter bluff in the short term, but they certainly have money problems. So many teams in the Championship are overstretched financially and/or are reliant on owners could disappear at any moment. I don't really enjoy trying to find teams that might go bust to boost our survival chances, and of course we have been there ourselves, but at the end of the day if they are getting a competitive advantage by overspending these clubs deserve what they get if that eventually come home to roost.
They haven't paid bills on time for ages, i have a client who nearly took legal action to recover monies owed.
Even small bills for payment, ie advertising etc - £200 a month deal - had to go through the chairman and has been like this for about 18 months.
I dont like to see a club in distress, especially seen as we have been in a similar position, but it could aid our ultimate aim of staying up this season.
