Just a quick heads up that the latest version of Chrome is flagging that Millers Banter is not secure since no SSL certificate is active for the site. You will need to obtain and activate the certificate from your website hosts, and a certificate may be included in the cost of your hosting package. It is particularly important for websites where users have a user name and password to log into the site.
I spent a full morning activating SSL on the many websites that I administer as soon as I found out that Chrome were introducing the warning.
Thanks for that. At the mo 'Activeboards' where this site is from, they do offer free SSL but only if you use their domain name. My host (Falcoda), obviously charge extra for this. This site is a loss maker, always has been there's absolutely no way I'm paying extra for it.
I heard a bit back about this SSL thing from Google that they're implementing the check into their browser. What they're effectively doing is trying to force all 600 billion websites whatever it is to get and use SSL certificates. I don't even think that's practical. People will just stop using Chrome, the numbers will fall off a cliff and they'll backtrack on it. It's a good idea if all browsers did it and was a universal thing that you can't get a website nowadays without getting an SSL certificate. But it's not gonna happen.
Of course if this site was a profit maker it would be different entirely.
