Moved back a day to a Sunday 12.30 kick off. Apparently we wanted it moved, they didn't , and ultimately the police safety people had the last word.
Millwall have released a statement expressing their outrage, saying that it shows a total disregard for the interests of football supporters (or words to that effect).
If Millwall don't like it they should be directing their displeasure at the lunatics who follow them and attacked our family stand last time they came here, ripped Wembley to bits, etc etc etc. Sort that lot out Millwall FC, and people won't consider this sort of move for safety reasons to be necessary.
No doubt they have a lot of good honest supporters who suffer from this sort of thing, and I feel sorry for them, but the solution really lies in their club's hands.
Police resources are stretched. The Police haven't got the time or inclination to babysit a few immature louts who are intent on spoiling what should be a great day out. Look at the large number of Police officers it took to safely escort the small number of S c unthorpe followers from a public house on Wellgate, Rotherham Town Centre during the playoffs just a few weeks ago.

Spot on Smiler.. How can they be 'Outraged' , their fans should be permanently banned from all away fixtures in my opinion.
...on way out of ground when we last played them at NYS, I witnessed one of their fans punching random Millers fans for no reason whatsoever.. It surprises me the club still exists....
I think that was the game they trashed a disabled persons adapted vehicle as well. Lovely bunch. Not all of them obviously, but it is more than a coincidence that trouble and Millwall are synonymous.
My paternal grandfather was from the Isle of Dogs and was a Millwall supporter born and bred. From about 1980 onwards he looked for the results and followed them but wouldn't go to watch them. He found it totally depressing that a sizeable lunatic fringe had hijacked the club and dragged its good name down.
They will blame SYP, but as Wotsisname says their resources are increasingly stretched, and with our town being a focal point for EDL protests and the like you don't have to have a crystal ball to see what might be coming. It certainly happened last time. They made a concerted effort to travel in numbers and kick off.
Here here smiler, we do not want to see a repeat of the last time that bunch of morons came up here. A big well done to SYP for a change insisting on the change & it'll be well worth the minor inconvenience for our fans, in fact I'd have a 9am kick off to stop any of the cretins turning up.
