now what do we think we need in terms of players to not go down next season and to build for the 2nd season in the Championship?

First we need to get straight onto Fulham and Brighton about doing something with Rodak and Towell. Us being a championship club and the two being Premier league clubs should have strengthened our position.

id like us to go in for Holmes from Scunny, available on a free transfer and offers genuine pace which will be needed as we will have to do plenty of counter attacking especially against the top sides.

If Duane Holmes is out of contract he would certainly be someone I would look at.

I agree about Rodak and Towell. Also Emmanuel depending whether Ipswich want him back or not. I suppose that will be up to Paul Hurst now. At least he has had a good look at him and should be able to make a quick decision.

A good, solid centre half who knows the league but isn't past it is a priority. Whether Woody can still do it at that level is debatable (harsh though that sounds as he is now part of our folklore but that's football for you).

The other priority is a goalscoring striker. We don't have anyone on the books who might get 10 goals in a Championship season, and at the end of the day you have to score goals to pick up points. I know we have been linked with them before in the past and query whether or not they are within our reach financially either on permanent or loan deals, but people like Sam Winnall (now back at Wednesday but unlikely to play) and Tom Bradshaw (now that Barnsley are down again) might fit the bill. With the best will in the world I don't see Lavery as a Championship footballer or even a League One regular. He is a very willing runner and I have appreciated his efforts and I hope we have helped him to get games and a shop window, but we need to make our budget go as far as it can and I wouldn't take him permanently.

Going to need 2 keepers I if Rodak returns. 2 or I Right backs same again depending if Emmanuel returns. 2 Centre backs I think Dom Ball went out on loan cause of his wages, I'd have another look at him. At least one winger, same in midfield. 2 strikers min'. Two players caught my eye last season Duane Holmes & Marquis from Donny. I'd have Kieffer Moore back, was a fit with us will never be with Barnsley.

Another player who was a fit with us but doesn't seem that way at Ipswich, Grant Ward.

in regards the goalie if rodak isn't available i would ask about Henderson. the fact we are now in championship would help to his development

towell is one we should be bidding for or getting back on loan

marquis and bradshaw no thank you

duane holme yes i agree he would worth a bid

dom ball i have always said i think he should be given another chance in millers shirt

lavery i would get him in and let yates go

what about tavenier at rangers?

winnall is a good option as well but if he was any good derby would have kept him

but next season for us to at least have a chance we will need

GK X 1 if we can get rodak if not the X2

RB X 1 if we get emmanuel to stay if not X2

CD X2 with all the best will in the world woody wont be a regular starter i suggest like others have that he comes the defensive coach and takes ajayi and Mw under his wing

RW X1

LW X1

AM X1 at least even if we get Towell back

2 strikers unfortunately yates needs to go out on loan for a full season at a league 2 club gets some goals as he isnt  going to get any better playing in reserves or on bench  so i would opt  for lavery warne and barker coaching him on his finishing

NO MATTER WHO WE SIGN LETS GIVE THEM CHANCE AND A PROPER NEW YORK STADIUM WELCOME

Quite a shopping list there T71, would agree with Homes and a bit 50/50 about Moore, scored for fun for us but not sure he did that much up the road in the Championship, but a good call on Grant Ward. I guess it all comes down to the jingly jangly available.

Wheels have already been set in motion to sign up new players. I'm hoping that none fall off in the meanwhile.

from the sound bites coming from the club eg warnio and stewart they have learned their lesson on keeping stum and doing proper research into the players they want based on ability and personality and i think the main focus will be young or late 20 year olds not over the hill journeymen

and we dont just want any relegation cast offs if they wasn't good enough for their club then why would they be for us

Anyone remember Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe who came to us on loan from Norwich 2 seasons ago. He only played 4 games but he was class. He's now with Olympiacos in Greece but only played 17 out of 30 games last season. If we can't secure Richie Towell, he would be a great replacement. No idea of his value though.

Based on the players we got in the season just gone, I've got more faith that some of the new ones might be up to the level we need compared with Evans scattergun approach.

I don't think any we got last season were what we expected either, so probably none of the Names mentioned.

I'd love us to keep Emmanuel.

A cliche I know, but we need evolution not revolution. If we can turn a couple of last season's good loan players into permanent signings then good. On top of that, perhaps two or three further permanent signings, but people who fit into the group. Tea drinkers who are willing to run round cones. The right age and the right attitude. On top of that a couple of good quality new loanees who are going to bring something to the party.

Easier said than done of course!

Id like us to ask NW about Bamber and Hoylet. They arent premiership quality but did ok in the champ and NW likes us. I'd ask about Moore too, he was a good fit for us.

Probably worth enquiring about Roberto Francisco. Wages may be a sticking point though.

He was one of several who seemed to be very good players that for one reason or other disappeared from view.

He was class.

Smiler - I'm delighted to announce that your £100 is safe. Bailey-King, along with Price, ***mings, Clarke-Harris, Warren and Muskwe not on the retained list and free to find another club. Close shave or what!? This site is going to be mighty quiet for a while!

Was amazed Bamba walked out of Leeds for nothing, had a really good season at Cardiff from what I've seen of him he's class, sure NW will think he could make the step up?

Keep to my promise. Trust the managers judgement, he's not been far off so far. Got to be some in contract players told to look for other clubs or loaned out. Manny Bray Yates to begin with. Ihiewke Potter Forde also. In time Taylor Ball will find 1st team opportunity's limited.

Wouldn't touch Lavery with a bargepole. Not remotely good enough, even for Lge 1. Rumour going round that we're talking to David Hirst (again) about his lad who I believe is now out of contract with Sheff Wed.

I had no inside knowledge Glenn but I think my childrens' inheritance (for that is all they might get) was always pretty safe. If Mason Warren was a bit quicker he would have a better chance. He has a good left foot. Good look to all of them.
