Interesting read, From this In take it tony has learned his lessons about the recruitment strategy last time we was in championship and if we do go up I think this time will be different. Im not expting big marquee signings but i believe we will sign decent players not over the hill journeymen
Its a nice enough interview that tells us nothing more than we already knew.
There was a piece on ITV's Calendar a few weeks ago with TS giving an interview and he was talking about aiming for the Premier League. It makes a rod for his own back (or that of his manager of the day). I'm with Worcester. I love the man for what he has done for us, but it is daft talk and totally unnecessary.
he has a dream but make that dream reality something big financially has to come our way
i must admit the perfect scenario would be us v owls in a championship playoff final they are wining 1 nil then we equalise 5 mins to go and win a penalty in the last minute of regular time. Can you imagine the owls fans
They would gutted for years
the river don will be flooding from all the tears of sadness.
Radio Sheffield would be off the hook
I lv what our Tone has done for the club but got to be realistic if we go up squad has got to have a massive overhaul. How many players have we got who could even be called squad players in the championship. I'm thinking Ajayi Mattock Purrington Vaulks Newell & Smith out of own players. The likes of Wiles & Bailey-King might come through. Either get Rodak Emmanuel Towell back or loans of the same ability. Before anyone says Palmer he's got to step up to be considered a championship player. Stick with what we've got be same as the 2016/17 season. But now we are so close want us to go up. But don't want another season like our last season in the championship

we can all dream
oh so beautiful.
could we not just have a 9-nil thrashing of them and go in at 8 nil at half time?
Ian, i listened to Football Heaven TS Interview this morning and at the very end - PL was mentioned.
OMG!
Well, I guess he might be in a better position than me to think its possible. However, from my vantage point I cant see it. I think of the type of money, good fortune and infrastructure that needs to come together to create a team capable of being in the top 6 and winning promotion-we have never done it and come nowhere near in modern history.
The examples close to our experience-Bournemouth , Barnsley, Huddersfield, Blackpool- are exceptions and still have more of the above than we have ever had.
The other thing is that I dont think of it anymore. As a fan Im really happy with the goal of trying to build an infrastructure that can progress in small steps and not be on a roller-coaster. That would be my goal. I mean, that is realistic isnt it? And its the best way to plan I would imagine. small steps. Let the results take shape. so, Im not sure if its helpful to even talk about it before their is any evidence of the many steps in-between.
Im also prepared to not win on Sunday for the same reasoning. I will be very happy on the day and very proud if we did win. However, I cant help also feel I would like to see us build a side capable of winning promotion as a very good L1 team.
I know that it might be a little negative but any team that is successful has to build and the steps cant be too big.
