The Mighty Millers v The Cod Army (Fleetwood Town )

It's time for us to step up to the plate and give someone a battering.  Will it be The Cod Army? One thing is for sure, Fleetwood Town are doing really well. They have won their last four games and even held Charlton to a goalless draw. This will be a big test for us. We need to stop the rot. No ifs, no buts.

Sadly, I cannot see us beating Fleetwood. We might scrape a draw. That will be as good as it gets in my opinion. I'd like our players to prove me wrong and send the Cod Army away with their tails between their legs.

UTM!

Go back to the midfield that started most games in our good run. Vaulks & Towell if fit. Taylor up front with Smith, Taylor was a goalscorer before he joined us. Repeating myself but got to on MB. Most posters don't take it in.

I take on board what you say about the midfield. Fleetwood have strikers and midfielders chipping in with a few valuable match winning goals. Can we match them up front and more especially in midfield? Yes, we can if Towell is fit to play. Where the rest of our team is concerned. I believe it's all in the mind. It's okay being match fit but if the mental attitude isn't anywhere near 100% we will falter.

Looks like Richie Towell will be back for the Fleetwood game but Mattock will miss out. I'd move Vaulks back to CB alongside Ajayi and play Purrington again at LB - hoping his stamina has improved. Towell and Palmer central midfield (best pairing we've had for years) with Newell on the left and Forde out right. Stick with Smith and Ball up front - the latter should be fired up against his old team. Nothing to fear against Fleetwood - if we play as well as against Peterborough and improve our form in front of goal, we should win this one and ease the tension!

Smith and ball up front for me Taylor or Williams on the right If towell fit then him and Palmer midfield if not then Taylor in centre midfield Vaulks centre back Next season we need a new centre back as we lose vaulks shooting when he isn't in midfield Unfortunatley i think forde needs to be on the subs bench So my team Rodak Emmanuel ajayi vaulks Paddington Williams towell or Taylor Palmer Newell Smith ball or lavery Bench price ithiewe forde lavery or ball Taylor if towell if not then wiles and Bailey king if he is back at the club

Do we play Palmer who is ineffective in away games or revert back to what gave us our good run. Me you've got to be on top of your game in all games. Need to freshen it up. Rodak; Emmanuel Ajayi Ihiewke Purrington; Forde Vaulks Towell Williams; Taylor Smith bench Bilboe Wood Hinds Palmer Wiles Newell Lavery

McAleny beat us on his own away but our defence was greatly at fault as he simply should not have had the time to carry and shoot as he did....

Need to be more tuned in - not good enough to give teams a head start and most teams are either trying to get in top six or put some distance between themselves and the drop.

Big match - but small following fromm the Cod Army

"It's time for us to step up to the plate and give someone a battering"

love it !

dunno why, form says no, but my gut says Millers come out fighting and firing like we know they can on a good day...

So 3-1 for me :)

You are fishing for laughs there Hillsborough, fair enough, humour has it's Plaice on this board... lol. biggrinbiggrin

I'd settle for same attitude as the Liverpool team I'm watching just now playing Man City - Wow, go for the throat indeed!!

Drop Forde and bring in Taylor, I thought Palmer was excellent last week and a run in the side will grow his confidence- reminded me a bit if Bannon at Wednesday when he used to run games for them; definitely a playmaker if we cultivate him. Gotta let Ball have a crack at Fleetwood but tell him to get off his arse and fight for the ball instead of going for the free kick every time. We can easily win this.

We certainly need to win this one by hook or by crook. The point is, and we must remember, Fleetwood are by no means small fry. Warne will need to get the team all fired up. I'm sure he'll be angling for a win.

Smith and Ball should be leading the line with Taylor plaiced just in the hole behind those front two. Let's hope we can find the net first.

If we don't win there will be no stopping the usual carping critics. As I mentioned in the opening post, we need to get something from this game even if it's just a draw.

Must say that it was far from noisy today. Especially after Fleetwood scored the first. goal They moved the ball quicker. We laboured quite a lot when in possession. Good final result at 3-2 though.

So glad Towell played today. He deserved to be Man of the Match.

Towell did well but Newell was exceptional not just for his goal. The quality of his crossing especially second half was brilliant.

Not impressed with Ball's contribution and Lavery is not the answer.Everything we created came through Joe Newell who was outstanding.Palmer and Towell who are our best two central midfielders were looking for movement up front to pass the ball forward but had to pass it sideways. When Emmanuel came on we looked more balanced and up front Smith worked tirelessly.

I thought we were very lucky yesterday, the team selection did not help, what was he thinking dropping emanuel??

Our best two all round fullbacks are emanuel and purrington, the latter needs games to reach his peak. They are both strong big and young.

However it is results that count not performances in the last 6 games, I think we will get 5 points out of 15, whether that is enough we will see.

Good win for you...as we know Sheridan teams are hard to beat....hopefully we have severely wounded Posh who still have to go t o Blackburn Shrews and Pompous

I think you should get enough from your games apart from Wigan and us to be comfortably in the PLayoffs...Charlton have some decent fixtures as well so they should drop points and obviously they can't avoid either taking from or dropping to Scunny and Pompey.....

So whilst we are still going one game at a time we may well have three more matches with you in the schedule...

Good luck!
