Southend have drawn three of their last four games with two clean sheets to their credit, scoring once while conceding four goals during that period. I'm going for a 1-0 win to the Millers. The goal being scored late on in the second half.
Can't fault your logic on this one, my heart agrees with you, but my stomach tells me we might come away empty handed. Unfortunately my stomach tends to rule over my heart, (and my brain). Hope it is just a minor bout of colic........
Today's a bit of a lottery. There's a reason why Southend are in the bottom half of the table but have a good home record - that's the state of their awful pitch. Any superior quality that Rotherham have could be negated by the conditions. Having said that, Southend haven't won in their last 4 outings. I'd be satisfied with 1 or 3 points, but won't worry overly if we get nothing.
we need to stop this little bad run we are on if we want to achieve a play-off place we have to play 3 of the chasing 4 teams and 2 away from home.
I think it will be tighter than we think and likely for us not to be an inform team heading into the playoffs
Shrimpers now have three clean sheets in five games. Can't argue with that. I thought it was going to be tight but the final result to go our way. How wrong was I?
Final score Shrimpers 2 Millers 0.
Momentum? We never really got going until the second half.
You reep what you sow. Warney's transfer policy endorsed by the manager himself. Can anybody tell me a good signing this season? Only Rodak & Towell who aren't our players would say add something to the side. Take Palmer. This would make me think before signing him. Burton who in reality are a smaller club than us weren't exactly fighting to keep him. Somebody tell me different.
I'd be surprised if Warney's transfer policy wasn't endorsed by the manager himself, seeing as Warney is the manager??!!
You asked the same question on a different thread so here's the same answer I gave then:
.............. if you're referring to players who will contribute positively to a winning side and get us promoted out of this league, how about Smith, Proctor, Williams, Palmer, Ball........the list goes on!
This is the same group of players who went 14 unbeaten and I can't remember too many questions regarding the quality of Warne's signings then?

That is a disappointing but not surprising result. Their home record is good and as Glenn says their pitch may have something to do with that. According to whoever presented on Radio Sheffield today all of the top four teams have now come away from Southend empty handed. The other results today weren't too bad for us. On we go. Learn from it and move on.
What's sad ? I write how I see it. I never try to wind anyone up. I deal in facts. ***mings was next to useless last time he played but he's back on the bench. Purrington his he injured? I'm happy we're keeping the season alive. Just the squad at the moment apart from Vaulks & Towell of the outfield players + Mattock are not progressive even at this level. Hope Proctor can get back before the play-offs to add something we're lacking.
Really looking forward to seeing EVO again...he's putting a bit of weight on again after that Leeds / Italian cooking....
This is the league one equivalent to the hard line Russian authoritarian management style of EVO VERSUS the soft / kind / thoughtful GOOD HUMAN BEINGS.
Really interesting battle of methodologies.
It's a MUST WIN....for the nice guys....
We'll see....win your individual battles boys and don't let it bounce in your box - and there's a nice river close by to put the ball under pressure - they won't score from there!

Score.....God only knows......
I am on the side of good human beings. Good human beings can be tough too. Good does not have to equal soft and/or unsuccessful.
I am not looking forward to seeing Evans. I never had that thought in my life. I hope he is largely ignored. I hope Evans has the grace to keep his trap shut (to coin one of his sophisticated phrases) this week. He loves it when things are about him, but this game isn't about him. He left us a long time ago and is now in his third job post-RUFC.
This is a game that we would love to win and need to avoid losing. Peterborough on the other hand really need to win it. That gives us an edge.
