Doubt if he'll be drawn into the lions den from the comfort of Oakwell. He'll be a fool if he does !

Big mistake if PH goes to Leeds. Ten managers in 5 years! He'll be gone by the Summer if he is tempted now.

They are as bad as us with six in three years!

He is on a hiding to nothing at Barnsley. A constant struggle to stay up and likely to end in relegation at some point and the sack as it all goes stale. Short memories in football.

Leeds will pay him at least twice what Barnsley can. He will either make himself a hero at a sleeping giant of a club, or they will get rid of him and he will get a huge payoff and move on.

I would go for it if I was him.

A different proposition for Warne. We are on the up and Barnsley are struggling to stay up. They are not a much bigger club than us if at all. The only thing that would tempt Warne there is money - they have a championship budget at present and we don't. But then mpney does talk.

Barnsley are an interesting comparison for Rotherham. I'm sure Tony Stewart looks at them and realises the considerable gap in funding that exists (rich backers and some very lucrative transfer deals) but still sees them struggling for Championship survival. Then again, the teams below Barnsley include Hull and Sunderland, just above them are big spending Wednesday - none of these clubs are in the relegation fight because of a lack of infrastructure, youth academies or access to good players. Only Burton could claim small club status to justify their league position. It confirms to me that for Rotherham, there's no point hanging around in League 1 trying to 'consolidate' as a club before we make a tilt at the Championship. Championship survival or success is more about team cohesion and belief, a manager with intelligence and vision and a large slice of luck. We're in as good a position to take on the Championship challenge as we're ever likely to be, so let's give it a go!

I can imagine the board and supporters are livid at Barnsley but, not many would turn down a club like Leeds?

They should have given him a fighting chance with a reasonable budget instead of following Rotherham's business plan of a meagre budget and seeing how it goes.
