Interesting point there, HM. Maybe he wanted to join the Millers since we may be the form team and the ones destined for success.  Who knows? Are we now the dark horses to take League One by storm in the next couple of seasons?

Exactly hillsborough. I thought that is what the club would have done first time round, instead of hitting the panic and self destruct button simultaneously

If promotion is there we should take it but this time plan for life in the championship and if it's a 1 year tenure then be honest about it and our ambitions - don't say we are aiming for the premiership in a couple of seasons.

You can't talk about consolidation when the opportunity's there to achieve promotion this season. Otherwise we may as well play to draw every game! Look how long its taken the Blades to get back. If we go up we hang on to our players and prepare better than previously. Additionally many of our improving young stars may not want to stay in Lge !

If we do achieve promotion, I think the key to survival in the Championship would be keeping the current squad together until at least the first transfer window next season. Steve Evans disbanded our successful League 1 squad far too early and many of the replacements weren't as good as the ones that left. I think SUFC did it the right way - keep the core of the promotion squad together and add a couple of key signings during the summer. That way you maintain the momentum and togetherness of the promoted side and the confidence of that side can bring you some much needed points in the early games until the rest of the Championship suss you out.

 Agree with that Glenn...

Matt Palmer is the perfect signing for us.We have missed that energy in the centre of midfield, that is not to criticise the two lads who are doing well at present but this new lad offers another dimension. We have certainly got a squad to succeed this season.

I'm still not getting too over excited. What will be will be. I'm just enjoying the improvements in the team's overall performances and the possibility of securing and maintaining a place in the playoffs. Who knows what lies in store for us in the final third of this season? It seems to me that the players are up for it. This unbeaten run we're on at the moment must be giving our next opponents something to think about. If they are not worried then they ought to be.

Let's move forwards with the Millers!
