keiffer moore update

this is from the ipswich site with quotes from warne

Following his side’s 1-1 draw with Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers at the New York Stadium this afternoon, Warne told reporters that Town won’t be including Moore in their squad at Craven Cottage as they plan to sell him.

He added that Rotherham, who have made a club record offer, are one of three clubs battling it out for the striker, who cost the Blues £20,000 when he was signed from Forest Green Rovers in January 2017.

Rotherham Boss: Moore Not Involved at Fulham and Town Set to Sell
Monday, 1st Jan 2018 19:26

Rotherham boss Paul Warne says Kieffer Moore won’t be involved with the Blues at Fulham tomorrow night and that Town will sell the 25-year-old frontman, whose season-long loan with the League One Millers they have cut short, during the transfer window.

Charlton, S****horpe and Bradford are believed to be among the other clubs interested in 6ft 5in tall Moore, who scored 13 goals for the Millers during the first half of the season.

The Torquay-born striker, who it's understood wasn't involved in training at Playford Road this morning, is contracted to Town until the end of the season with the club having an option for a further year.

I wouldn't think so, I doubt we will put in the best offer, simple as that really, I'm sure Warney would love him to join (as would we)

I've said on here for 3 seasons that those in charge of player signings and contracts are not fit for purpose, in my opinion... so unless something dramatic changes I can't see us landing him.

Landing him would represent a step change in our club's ambitions in my opinion.

McCarthy is quoted as saying,

“I’ve spoken to a number of people about him, a number of clubs. Those clubs mentioned, I think, yes, they’re interested, but I haven’t received any bids. And I guess it won't be down to their managers and me, it’ll be people above us.”

Is it possible someone is lying to Warney?,don't hold a lot of faith in those in charge of our transfer dealing.

Spending "record" amounts on a forward when the squad quality needs improving is a club balancing act that will take more than one window.....we'll see !

Agree with that Bornamiller. We have done well without Moore lately. Not to say he isn't a good player and his entrance at half time at Walsall really had an impact, but then so did JCH yesterday. We need improvement all over the place if we are to contend this season or next and beyond. If resources are scarce, putting all our eggs in one basket would be something of a gamble.

It's all down to trust. Whatever we say on here we are compelled, like it or not, to trust in TS and Co. They control the purse strings. When a player appears on their radar I hope that they have a policy of carrying out due diligence re that particular player before investing record amounts of money. I'm still not getting giddy. Unless I am mistaken, I feel that most of the transfer deals involving RUFC will be struck nearer to the eleventh hour.

Here's a bit more info to add to the confusion. www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/rotherham-united/rotherham-united-millers-increase-bid-as-battle-rages-for-moore-1-8936474

I don't go in for all the speculation over who has said what to who - no-one knows what the amounts involved are or what the outcome will be - not even Warne - so I find it better to wait and see.

What is interesting though is if we had the chance of signing Moore for a record £500k+ fee, or the chance of permanently attracting Towell, Emmanuel and possibly Rodak, which would you go for?

Moore every time. Strikers that score regularly are like hens teeth and he will only improve and be worth more. Signing him would be an amazing change in approach - Kiefer Moore playing alongside David Ball could see us back in the championship.

Will be amazed if we get Moore, I have zero confidence in the personnel when it comes to player acquisitions. The worst thing about this is it has Alan Lee written all over it, we don't need due diligance - we have our own and proof enough of what he can do. It therefore comes down to hard nosed negotiations with agents and as stated above I just don't think we are ruthless enough. Really had we been serious about landing him, we'd have managed to get a deal in place for first refusal come Jan 1st, as that hasn't happened I find it a remote possibility.

Warne is quoted as saying that it could drag on for weeks regarding Kieffer Moore. I reckon that when Warne hugged and thanked, what he described as a sweaty Moore after a recent game, it was probably for the last time. My guess is that we will probably take a young player or two on loan from local clubs. Will it make the Millers' faithful happy. I don't think so. Come on TS, give us a wave with one hand and the other hand clutching a sizeable cheque indicating your intention to land a decent catch or two. Remember the supporters' interest level in the club could wane between February and May. Pulling the usual rabbit out of a hat will not cut the mustard with a lot of supporters. We need something substantial to set the second half of the season alight.

Would agree wholeheartedly with that. We all know promotion this season is a myth, and possibly for the next two or 3 seasons. But if there is any ambition within the club, now and during the summer is the time to display that ambition and the intent. Arguably there are a few pointers that there is already the basic framework for a potentially successful squad, what we need to see is a positive move forward in canny bargaining, scouting and whole new mind set towards developing the club to compete in the modern game. What we don't want to see is a 'yoyo club' bolstered by has beens and developing or showcasing other clubs assets at our expense i.e.; Moore, Dicko, Taverner, et al. By sticking to the present approach then we will be going nowhere, just making the numbers up.

Why are we getting excited when the Court Jester of the Football League Barry Fry makes a statement 're Keifer Moore. Let's examine the statement. He claims that they have had a bid for Moore accepted by Ipswich but his Chairman may not be too happy with the terms. Conclusion, all this statement tells us is that 250 thousand is the initial asking price for Moore and that Fry has not even run it past his Chairman yet.
Surely if Rotherham are serious about signing the player they can match this or even better this offer.
Ipswich are being very smart here accepting an offer from Peterborough which they know will start a bidding war for Keifer s signature.
I hope Rotherham keep their head in this situation and don't go too far with their offer. We need to make a sensible offer not an outrageous one.
The other part of the equation is Moore himself, Ipswich can accept any offer they like but if the player doesn't
Want to go there what do they do about it. Warne is being very astute about the whole thing keeping in touch with Keifer knowing that the boy enjoyed his time here and that the fans loved him. This may count for more than we all think. I thing Warne is right this may run on for a few weeks before it is resolved. So keep your nerve and watch this space.

If this indeed turns out to be true, I for one will be asking why he doesn't put the club up for sale as he clearly has zero ambition in reality... If we can't afford £250k when we are getting very decent crowds 8k to 10k per home game for League 1, we are only ever going to go down hill as fans gradually get fed up, our team gets worse, and the crowds in a couple of years time are suddenly 5k to 6 k or worse.. recipe for a failing business...

There's nothing on Posh's official site by the way yet ... so I hope this is premature and wrong...
